That 8.5gb was for the game up o patch 2.3 (or around there)
The extra is everything since then all the way up to 3.3.
and its common that most MMO on steam ONLY keeps the Vanilla Clients
if you are complaining then you must be new to MMOs
its so basic that you only download the base or basic game and client launcher then the patch updates will fill in.
No silly player. They only have default client as Steam doesn't handle patches/updates that's what the laucher is for. Cause you know not every game starts on Steam.
It is...Its the complete size of the game both ARR and Heavensward.
It's not the games fault that your PC is screwing something up. Find out what it is, fix it and you wont have to download it every week.
And now I've also read online that the initial chunk is just for lower levels/zones, so when I hit level 20 or 30 I'll need to d/l yet another 10-20GBs??? FFS, can anyone please confirm this either way? Cheers!
Uh what? must be talking about Free Trial. Because usually the client will download everything besides Heavensward if you don't own it.
This is steam and they have no power to control all 3rd party MMO's and they don't store all the latest patchs/updates. This has been common for a long time and if you have to complain then download the Non-Steam clients then.
