Also your subscription didn't run out right?
it affected for a while genshin impact aswell, tho they fixxed that. it had to do with a weird windows protocol which was blocking things or something like that. it can be found somewhere in the genshin impact launcher patchnotes, tho it was a few months ago. goodluck finding it @w@ but if you find it can ya tell the excact issue cause they wrote it by name and is now not longer blocking login requests etc.

I bought FFXIV through steam on Apr 17, 2016. All my DLC are also steam purchased.
I contacted FFXIV and they say my game version is windows version which doesn't make any sense, since I bought the game directly only on steam.
go to ffxiv
right click
manage or something
browse local files
ffxivboot.exe <---- u can just login there.
This is also how you can easily login if steam login servers crap up like they use to all the time (they dont anymore as far as I notice but it used to be a big issue)
Should work. If not, I dunno.
XIVlauncher or something.
You used to need to add -issteam to the launch options for the .exe but I dont think that matters anymore.
I'm not sure what "those people" means, but you might end up being out of luck if that's the case. It sounds like you're in SE's system as Windows user somehow; unless you can talk customer service into helping you, you're probably SOL.
ETA: Are you 100% sure that you don't have two accounts? Like you started with a Windows trial, liked it, and then purchased it on Steam? And you're using the trial one instead of the real one? Did you maybe have a console version?
Try this:
Log into the Mog Station.
On the left hand side, click on 'Service Account Status'.
There are two pieces, here. One: 'Account Type'. Does it say Standard, Trial, or Standard (Steam)?
and it will have an end date for your current subscription. You will be able to see if the subscription you paid for took. Does that look right? If yes, continue. If no, there's your problem.
Two: Scroll all the way down to the 'Platform' section. Make sure your DLC are showing there. If they aren't showing there, you're probably on the wrong account.
Once you've confirmed that stuff, let me know what it says and I'll see if I can determine where your issue is (or at least help you draft an email for customer service that will clearly articulate the issue and what you need from them).
ETA2: Are you using a shared computer? Is the user name already filled in and greyed out when you start the ffxiv launcher from steam? Does it match the account you logged into mogstation with?
