Since neither worked I decided to reinstall the launcher, which then decided to redownload ALL 50 GB files which are STILL in the folder ... which makes this action redundant. While it may fix potentially broken files in the initial download unless the files themselves are corrupt square spews out, this once again highlights the ANCIENT data management Square still employs compared to Steams "data integrity check".
Square, update your damn file system.
If this isn't fixed before my last 5 days of subscription end, I certainly won't sign up for the next 30. Seriously, get your Q&A department together.
Just now I decided to disable GShade and logged in and it actually worked without a hitch, then installed GShade again with it's Control Panel, no problems. Just at character selection screen.
I re-downloaded the game before this and it was freezing the same. If any of y'all running GShade, give it a go. I think it might be with it's preset system or smn, when you reinstall it, it fixes itself somehow.
Edit: aaaand it broke :(
edit: Ah, another thing is it doesn't close correctly as well, so exiting the game results in a frozen screen and I need to again kill it in the taskmanager :/ But hey, I won't complain if it at least let's me play it ^^
No they are not. After you delete the launcher it instantly takes the game files to void dimension. The 50gb you see now are empty stubs waiting to be redownloaded.
