Pulling them into an AoE puts you in danger because you don't have a way to get out yourself. SGE has "Icarus" to get back out.
Assuming they mean they then can't use the Sage gap closer to get out of their own dangerous spot if need be.
Sadly the last time I needed it I mixed up the binds I had set and pulled the person to me, which didn't do anyone any favors. Don't recommend.
In 4000 hours you've never seen a single person be saved on Phlegethon?
anyways, then i kind of missunderstood you because i thought you wrote "i get in danger if i pull someone out of an AoE as sage" ^^.
before my brother in law got bullied out of playing healers by MENTORS, we used to go tank/healer duo, and he always pulled me out of aoe's
just because some bad apples missuse an ability, doesent mean the whole batch is ruined.
instead of removing it, just punish people harsher who troll with it.
Its called mouse over macros. I've been playing since launch and I can recall only two occasions its been used on me in a pug run. Both times were my fault and they were pulling me away from the mechanic. I've never been griefed with it by a pug and it has legitimate uses in end game. My static has done it on rare occasions to mess around at the end of raid night, but its not often and its always hilarious.
So no, rescue doesn't need to be removed.
This lol. We did it to our reaper once. His timing was off and he was still stuck in the animation lock after the damage went out. Got yanked by our whm and saved his bacon. Was also comical to look at too.
Sometimes I will use it on a Tank who either is choosing to ignore, or honestly didn't see my HoT zone like Sacred Soil, and I will pull them back into it instead of letting it be wasted.
On very rare occasions I will use it to try to save someone from a mechanic, but usually by the time I have adjusted myself and am safe from a mechanic I have little time to save someone else who isn't paying attention.
Get a mousover macro to save people. Much faster then clicking. I rescued dozens of ppl in my hours played.
How is it cheating? The function is built into the game...
It isn't 'cheating' at all.
It is a macro created by FFXIV to use.
How would that be in any way cheating if the game devs created the macro code construct to be used?
Just make a macro, paste that into it and put it on your hotbar. Hover your mouse over a player and press the rescue macro to rescue them.
