I cant speak for EU/Eastern regions, as I dont play there, but Crystal is still a big RP community and kind of a laid back community overall, regardless of the world.
Aether and Primal to my knowledge is very much an endgame DC
Again, just talking NA here, for crystal, as thats where I am, youre going to find a mix of everything on each DC, except for maybe RP. I would say crystal atleast is pretty accurate. idk about the "toxicity" part about some of them though. Balmung is your main source for (e)rp, and Mateus is main for rp. but its not like you need to land there, you could pick any world and just visit.
Plus.. with the addition of actual DC visits, you can just pick one with a cool name that you like if you really want. Youre going to find pockets of community everywhere
I think you would probably be better to list like a top 3 type thing for people to put recommendations.
For example. Say you want, in priority
1. Endgame Grinding/Raiding
2. Casual and Laid Back
3. Friendly and welcoming.
Youre probably going to get 20 different worlds to go to, any would be viable.
That's pretty much what I'm looking for, those two. I have no interest in raids, PvP or roleplaying.
The one I'm currently on is a hardcore raiding server. (Behemoth in primal Data Center) When I first joined, I was clueless about all of that and pretty much just followed the friend who recommended/turned me on to the game. But now that he's gone and Behemoth is not my kind of world/server/scene, I'm looking for something a lot more casual and chill for the North America region with very little pressure to do this or that.
Hmm, I would take a visit over to Crystal - Zalera. Very relaxed community over there, friendly and chill. Most people on Crystal are of that mindset, and you dont really need to be into RP to be on crystal. Zalera is probably the most welcoming to non rp i would say. Unless you want quiet then Brynhildr is probably where i would go.
Though in my opinion, youre best to hop from DC to DC for a few days, maybe park on a server or two, and just run some party finder content. That is probably where you are going to see the actual pop of people that would convince you to stay there. Probably wont find it in dailies, but if youre doing specific things, like relic, bozja or something, you will see it there
I've also seen this server guide, but it seems to be even older than the previous one I linked and more out-of-date:
https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comments/bg78ct/a_comprehensive_server_guide/
^But yeah, a recent or updated guide/list similar to that is what I was mainly looking for.
cause if he is in the EU and hops onto crystal ... have fun with the connection to the server.
same viceversa. ya should take that into account too tho '-'
not that he plays someday machinist and then realizes that he cant do proper dps cause his ping is like 600+ ._. and the AoE snapshots ... thats aswell horrible with too high ping ...totally forgot about that...
Light has many Germans
Chaos has many Frenchs.
English is everywhere though
In Japan DCs more than half of characters pass Extreme and Savage level content, definitely most hardcore servers will be there
Primal: Hardcore Progression Servers
Aether: Progression Servers (Cactuar is home to the streamer Asmongold)
Crystal: RP Servers (Highest RP concentration servers are Balmung and Mateus)
Zodiark = Italians
Moogle = French
Shiva = Germans
Faerie = The Gays
Tonberry = Weebs and English speaking Japanese expats and citizens
Balmung = ERP, sorry RP.
Behemoth = Brazilians
There used to designated raid servers like Gilgamesh etc. but that changed with the newer systems.
My bad, forgot to mention that. I'm in the United States. Also, late response on my part.
Thanks for the responses so far. I've gotten a better idea of them overall and have since chosen a new server to move to.
Definitely gonna have an alt on Raiden for the MGS memes.
But honestly anyone claiming is the giga raider dc where you have to be to do endgame and that sorta stuff is just incorrect, people like to ♥♥♥♥ on balmung because they couldn't be there before.
Avoid :)
