Well I don’t know a quick 1 liner to summarize it so… lol. I don’t think I’ve been to Limsa since I was level 60 getting jobs 600 hours ago
I think you forgot about the market board accessibility. The other cities have their advantages, like Ul'dah has the shortest distance from the aetheryte to GC and Limsa has the shortest distance from aetheryte shard to market board. Meanwhile, Gridania has the worst aetheryte shards placement where they're just far from everything.
Radz isn't really a full fledged city, its more of an endgame hub area like Eulmore, Rhalgr's Reach and Idyllshire were. They all have an area where all the vendors are concentrated and no market boards.
Gridania has the fastest access to the inn, for us glam ♥♥♥♥♥♥ this can be an important factor too!
Also, back to the OP's topic, I find Limsa Lominsa to be much more tolerable to navigate than Ul'dah, of the starting city states, it is without a doubt the worst in terms of layout, it's borderline labyrinthine in design. It also doesn't help that Ul'dah has the most area transitions, making it annoying to go through on foot.
The summoning bell is kind of weird tho, yes.
It's kind of sad how the in-game market areas don't actually get used. Kuganes especially would be really cool to see players actually shopping.
It's almost identical to the endgame hub of each expansion. Idyllshire, Rhalgr's Reach, Eulmore and Radz. None of them have marketboards. They pretty much exist exclusively for the 1 room that houses the token exchange vendor for the expansion.
