If the group hasn’t made it clear, it’s best to ask.
So if someone is stupid enough to try to ninja loot something in the game, SE does not tolerate that so report them.
Okay, you are correct, but guess what? Its my map. My rules. You dont like em, dont come. I can promise you there will be plenty of others that are more than willing.
Now, you can make any claim youd like about me being selfish, arrogant, egoist, etc. Point still stands, my map, my rules.
Now, personally, if I was to do a map, as the owner, I would only expect to roll need on ONE thing that is actually needed, to keep things fair. That is just me personally though, and as stated, the map owner makes the rules.
As for myself, I won't run with a group unless it's Need (or Greed) on everything.
I think it's dumb that the map owner should get priority. It's not like they did anything special to get the map, or that it was hard work and therefore they are deserving of everything in it, or anything of the sort.
As stated above, this kind of attitude is what limits the amount of maps you will be doing then. Math wise, you are gimping yourself.
I can do 100 maps a day in groups. Out of those 100, I get rolls on say 30 things, so I walk away with a 30% loot rate, not too shabby.
YOU, on the other hand, are going to sift through those 100 I did, and pick and choose the ones you have best chance on loot for. Lest be generous and say 50 of them.
Out of those 50, you win 30%, same as above. Guess what, you took less loot that I did in the overall. You also took more time sifting through all those runs.
To reiterate once more, there will be PLENTY of people willing to come using the map owner rules over those that dont. So you sit on this hill to the end. We wont even notice.
Not as much as you'll be gimping yourself because you will find significantly less groups to run with with the attitude that just because you took two minutes to dig up or purchase a map it therefore means it's yours.
That said, if the map owner says something before we go into a possible portal something like, "Hey guys, if X drops, can I please have it?" I'm usually inclined to agree with that if everyone else is, but only if it's like one specific item.
Huh? 2 minutes or 2 hours, mine is mine. Who exactly do you think you are to try and tell people what they can and cant do with their belongings?
See, I dont think I will ever understand your side, because of what is stated above. It makes absolutely no sense to me, and no matter how you try to explain it, it will always boil down to MY MAP MY RULES.
So again, if you dont like those rules, thats fine, but dont start condemning those that decide to stipulate rules with their own things. If you dont like it, simply dont run it.
For the record, yes, I was that kid that took my ball home when the rest of the group were being asshats. I never once felt bad they got stuck with no ball because they were jerks. My ball, be nice.
Well maybe if you strop trying to tell everyone else their preferred way to run maps is stupid, less people will be inclined to condemn your way. Two way street, pal. You are the one who started being pompously arrogant in this thread before anyone else, you don't get to decry people having a poor attitude when you started it first.
Currently re-reading my past posts to see if I did say that. Not entirely sure I did.
Just re-read all my posts, and nowhere do I say anything about someone else's methods being stupid. I might have missed it, could you please quote directly what you are referring to?
Pretty sure the obvious conclusion would be "their map their rules". So I really dont see how I could qualify that as stupid to begin with.
You can also make up whatever
That.
That's an inherently antagonistic way to phrase that.
All you had to say is, I prefer running where the map owner gets to roll Need on something if they really want it, otherwise they roll Greed, and everyone else rolls Greed.
