trying to find the correct .exe to start the game vs starting play in the steam dashboard

So i had a index file crash in the game and had to reset up. I can only start the game from the Steam Dash board. I have tried clicking all others from the Boot and Game folders. I am trying to add my Gshade back, but without a working .exe, i am stuck. When i click the others they all say go to the fxxivboot.exe in pop ups, or they open without my info and say there is no account when i use my creds.
I am sure i am doing something wrong. Look for some help.

That is the correct exe, but steam version of xiv is locked to steam. You can't launch/login directly from the exe.

GShade connects to ffxiv_dx11.exe, which resides in "game" folder if you open local files of FF14 from it's library properties. Not the fxxivboot.exe
By default it would be
Steam\steamapps\common\FINAL FANTASY XIV Online\game

But steam and XIVLauncher don't start that exe, they start ffxivlauncher64 and ffxivboot64 which in turn starts the main exe of ffxiv_dx11.exe (or ffxiv.exe in dx9 mode)

You need to use steam api to start the game since latest update, you cannot create non-steam shortcut to ffxivboot anymore, it wont let you login into account you made in steam

Thank you, it seems so simple after reading that. just applied gshade to the ffxiv_dx11.exe and launched from the dashboard in steam. i was locked on it having to go to a proper .exe file to actually launch the game.
