The mode is supposed to be role agnostic with small flavors of each role.
That said WHM is beyond OP in the new pvp mode. You're playing it wrong.
People are absolutely cheating in the crystal ranks lol. The 1st ranked player on the leader board also win trades with an alt.
Maybe in one quantum branch of our universe there exists the possibility of someone cheating but for the most part I would wager it's just people upset they were beat in a video game, because someone manually targeting a player with 49% health and clicking 1 button is an impossibly inhuman feat.
Do you not know there are addons for this game? ACT is a well known one for pve and there's multiple addons for pvp such as auto LB for ninjas to LB immediately as soon as someone is at half HP and there's one for samurai to pop chiten and only pop the LB when it reads multiple enemies have the debuff.
There's also been several hackers caught on stream using speed hacks and invincibility hacks.
By "toxic" casuals, I mean that group of players that usually just faceroll their input device to get through content, get mad when asked to try, and were part of the group claiming to be "offended" by people emoting and such (in PvP).
Mind you, it's not necessarily their fault per se. It's just a fact of the matter that needs to be pointed out in this discussion - FFXIV is a VERY casual game that happens to have (a decent level of) hardcore content for those in pursuit of it. Moreover, the "toxic" casuals make up the majority of the playerbase while the hardcore players are the minority. This is why there are few Ultimates and such. I digress.
The issue comes into play when content that appeals to BOTH groups is introduced. In regards to PvP specifically, the goal is to win vs. simply progress as most casuals are used to. In order to do this, knowing how to play your job and the overall "ins and outs" of the maps is very important. Again, generally speaking, casual players do not know how to play their jobs in PvE content as is. Moreover, they are usually not very open to friendly suggestions regarding that (i.e.- the "you don't pay my sub peanut gallery). With that in mind, it's very much akin to casual players that queue into extreme fights - they are not prepared and most likely don't care to be. They just want to faceroll like they've been doing. With this new mode, however, this is probably the first and only time they've been asked to simply "try" by a lot of people on a regular basis. This is also combined with the fact that they just aren't built to deal with "conflict" in general. It's not like the game ever asked much of them, so who can really 100% blame them.
TL; DR - People need to git gud. The game does a poor job (if any at all) to encourage people to git gud and should evolve to do so vs. continuing it's path of (skill) regression.
You can only cater to the "toxic" casuals so much before it becomes an issue, which is what we are witnessing.
"Wait, I don't actually have proof. Just a screenshot of patch notes from a Discord channel."
"You got to believe me! My favorite streamer said so, so it must be true!"
But why after weeks of CC being released did Yoshi P not address the supposed rampant cheating issue which you and so many other players are experiencing? As an avid pvper himself, why wouldn't Yoshi P make his concerns public?

Well was quite a bit a proof and by your attitude of trying to defend so much that it's not happening you probably are lmao. Also who said that was from discord. Ohhh... let me guess. Your probably using MMOMinion which uses a discord to show the things their modding and cheating. lol.
I got those pics from Kaiyoko's twitter trying to warn people of them. Though to note that MMOMinion has been a culprit some of those streamers including the youtuber explained on this as well. Discords have supposedly showing off their mods apparently also.
