I knew someone on the Crystal DC that had "server" modded their groundsit animation to be their laying down in bed animation so they could lay down anywhere they wanted to in game (an animation that can normally only be activated with a bed)
Everyone around them was able to see them perfectly fine doing a laying down animation anywhere they did it instead of the normal groundsit animation
So be careful when you mess with Animation mods and make sure what you are doing is really client side only if you dont want to have to worry, check if the mod makes any mention of being client only or not
I have never seen the reddit post though so I don't know what it would have said
It's just something for OP to keep in mind that potentially, they could end up finding one that is affecting the server and to be aware. So if they have an actual friend on the game that they dont have to worry about reporting them, They could try the mod in a private area with that person to see whether or not anyone else can/will see it
Mods just replace what you see client side so the animation replacer OP wants to use will be fine.
Using animations in conditions when you normally can't is not replacing assets.
They are client side only, the reason people see the sit anywhere, and lie down anywhere emote is because those emotes actually exist in the game they just can't be added onto your hot bar through normal gameplay because they aren't added to everyone's emote list, so they are technically in the game just the direct emote link to them isn't, when you use the doze or sit emote the game automatically checks to see if your near a compatible object to use those other variations of the emote if so it will use them if not then it will use the first variant, the exploit however creates a direct shortcut to the 2nd variant of the emotes for doze and sit so that when you use them it doesn't check whether or not your near compatible furniture it just uses it no matter what, they are also their own separate emotes, they don't replace any emotes, neither do they actually have an icon attached to them because they aren't meant to directly be used by players.
