The rest of the story is great but only the very last couple parts of ARR are any good the rest are garbage.
You forgot that between every step you need to go to the waking sands to talk to milfina.
If you want something that isn't like this go play Mabinogi or go play Warframe where the point is to kill enemies nonstop.
I've played WoW- And the thing about WoW is.... The content isn't locked behind a long main story quest. You may have to do one quest to unlock a raid or dungeon, but you would not have had to do a large chain of quests to unlock the content. You could skip all quests if you really wanted to in WoW, and when you're at max level most content would be available to you.
As well, this is why they've begin giving Vesper Bay teleport tickets. They cost 0 gil. You not using them is a you problem.
Nero did hack a linkshell at point blank range yes but prior to that? No, It just wasn't there go see for yourself.
They should just yeet ARR and play a story cinematic at start of New Character and create some kind of sewer level in Ishgard for newbies to quickly level up and return to Heavensward.
