If you are talking about this specific moment, servers are down for maintenance, plus there is a non-steam version and ps4/ps5 versions. I'm assuming you are basing your numbers off of the current steam players.

the game is in maintnce currently so noone can actually get past the launcher, outside of it, the game is available outside of steam and is crossplay with console so the amount of players it way bigger even if you exclude the console players.

What I'm thinking and I know it's a really dumb guess on my side but maybe OP thought FF14 was hosted on steam or something and the amount of players on steam was actually the total of players playing... If that's true, it shows a real lack of research on his side, to be honest.

The side u posted is the same side im always looking. Is 1 of the sides thats really come close to the numbers. To much people thinking steam charts says all the numbers but since most of the player not using steam and many players are on console it doesn't make sense only to watch at steam charts

Why are you lying? This isn't real values. This is all fake. It's all numbers based on numbers taken from sites like Reddit, and random estimates.

The game isn't as popular on steam as it is on stand alone. There is a census on the game that is player driven and counts "active characters" as characters who have finished the main story quest of 6.0.

When SE claimed they have 12 million accounts I was also laughing because if those numbers were active the servers would simply crumble like ♥♥♥♥ LMAO

This is the closest real number we have. Other numbers except those from steam are just estimates.

There is a website that claims that they know for sure by using xbox API on windows, but those numbers only come from PUBLIC XBOX PROFILES if people logged in on windows, so this is garbage numbers too.

The census is the closest thing we have sadly.

you get actually closer to 1/9 of the playerbase. Back in late summer, there was a fairly big poll (some 6k votes, so it's statistically accurate) and said that 30% of the pc users use steam, with the other 70% using mogstation. then there's console, which *is* the larger platform of the two, as the game is pretty big in japan and they have like 0 pc gaming culture.

Feel free to provide a better source if you have one? Otherwise, all we have is estimates. How hard is it to believe 715k players or about connect to FF14, anyway? Except for night time, the servers are almost always full with players everywhere. FF14 is a popular mmo, after all.
