unable to complete version update

now what? i linked steam with my ffxiv, and now get this error...sigh

1. close your webbrowser in the background ... iunno why but ppls say that to fixx it.
2. try over and over again ö.ö
3. use the custom FF14 launcher (the XIVLauncher) google it. its easy to find, just make sure its the official github from where you download it x3.

iunno sometimes has the official launcher issues to deliver updates. it sometimes works ... sometimes not. its expecially annoying when you try to install the game.

ty, late response. early found way disable firewall/windows defender

but now new problem has shown up,

Unable to create character config data.....when i try to log into character or log into new character.....

This is annoying agree on installation part..but now this new error.

i tried disable read only, in ffxiv folder like suggested.. but it keeps checking box...and wont change..so out ideas..

gonna try

sfc /scannow

see if that works....

This sounds like file permission errors maybe. Not sure. It says creating config data. Maybe some files it creates per character. Try run as admin.

ty, and i disabled windows defender again it started to work...

i think all error is from windows defender, i have never seen this problem with other games..and plus this is linked with steam...so security problem should not happen this bad..

i have it back on, now i keep seeing.
