IV TALKED TO A FEW people who Quit..

WHY IS IT THAT hEALERS ARE SO needed/wanted BUT NO ONE wants to be a healer?

Why does the match maker LOVE adding healers to groups QUICKLY..
but DPS types have to Wait to get into matches..

I would belieave it would be advantagous If groups Jumped into battle..and LEARNED that they can DEFEND, and NOT STAND IN A SPOT AND BE A TARGET for every hit..

YOU might add an option in a match to WATCH the story line and Not skip it..the newer players WANT to see the story, others want to RUSH the match.. OR play the story OUTSIDE the matches.. Otherwise you might as well goto YT and watch all the cut senes and NOT worry about being in battle in the middle of a CUTSENE..

I've started to drift away from healing because not of the diffculty when being a healer, but from how stale, simple, and boring its getting. I don't know why but 3.5 felt more fun to play as WHM than 4.0. Sure we got some great buffs and a -sigh- lily system, and mp is of no concern at max lvls. Just...the healer jobs, imo, need to be reworked to be more fun. No not mobs hitting harder or more of them or moments of large AoE damage to everyone. A more fun job to play as healer.

Some I think didnt get the point..
1. Healers get into games Fast.. DPS sit around because the Game selection has ENOUGH DPS...and wants/requires a healer..
2. said to me that DPS characters can sit around waiting to get into game UPTO 2 hours..(those that mentioned this, are generally very accurate)
3. No mention of People learning to Dodge an attack? Are you content with it? Its the biggest thing Iv seen in a Video game in ALONG while.. I mentioned Iv played games ALONG TIME(I played Pong when it was NEW, If you know what a teletype is,, BE HAPPY FOR MONITORS, paper roles can run out)
The time of games with people STANDING there waiting for the coputer to roll dice and tell you "IT MISSED" should be gone.. you have all this computer power and grahics and you cant ADD/Include the basic abilities of movement(I wont go into this, it is worse then playing Paper D&D)..
4. Along with #3, you get DPS that cant remember that a Healer is healing Many people (OR 1 person..) If you get out of range, being YOLO, then you can DIE as often as needed to GET A HINT.. "Quit complaining if the healer hasnt moved from the main group, he IS HEALING..
There has been a Great long debate, over what a healer can do..IN MANY games.. IMHO.. If you know WHAT kills people and can HEAL IT, you should be able to REVERSE the same and cause it to Damage or kill.. WHICH (IMO) makes the healer the most raounded character Any game can make.. ((If a Doctor can weld a scalpul to heal a person, dont you think HE KNOWS where to HOT you with one??))

DPS charavter get to stand in LINE?? to get into a match? Strange. As it might Teach DPS characters to DUCK/DODGE?? insted of depending on 1-2 healers...(that Beginners arent Keeping track of) You would think they would LEARN QUICKLY if they got beat up every time they went into a match..LEARN TO DODGE or Stand in range of a healer..

Healers also need recover time..MP just DONT HAPPEN..
iF THIS GAME IS AS tons of others, AND A HEALER is only a healer.. Give him enough power to do HEALING ONLY.. Since this is TEAM play, he has to be a TEAM healer..

I DO like the Box reasoning...The game can select those that WANT to watch the cut scenes..Its not hard.. Many DPS stand around doing nothing Waiting for matches...IF you CLICK that box, you MIGHT be sitting around Just as those DPS..

What Im saying is Dont make healers BORING... Sit in a spot and push a button ISNT GAMING..
Having Many DPS sitting and waiting to PLAY, isnt FAIR either.. NEW or OLD players Want to play.. But Give them the Ability to Duck/Dodge/Parry/what ever, to defend themselves or Heal themselves.. BECAUSE THE HEALER IS BUSY OVER THERE..

I QUIT playing a tank game for many reasons, 1 of them was simple, You make REAL Tanks on REAL stats, and then you call this ARCADE and Balance things with HIT POINTS.. RUn around in a game map LESS THEN 1 mile wide.. and tell me I cant see 1 miles away...BUT stick a RED LETTERED name tag on my head.. And Any tank on the map, no matter the Gun, can hit and hurt my tank..no matter the REAL Armour on it..

Yes this is a fantasy game, dont take me wrong, I do understand it, but If you are a figher of any kind, you should know a FEW basic skills to stop the BLEEDING..
When I play games, I try to play REAL...because if you DIE, you dont come back alive. And even in matches where you can COME BACK over and over, With a K/D rate of 1/12, is not a good thing.

It dont matter if they dont WANT to change things..I would hope they would..There are ALWAYS changes in games. It depends on how good your programmers are. And If the company WANTS more players..because if people join, and get upset of a few basic things..LIKE finding that the only way to get into a match is to be a HEALER....BECAUSE DPS sit and wait..

Holy drivel Batman. What you're asking for (if I'm reading this gibberish correctly), is that you want other classes to be able to heal themselves. Why have the holy trinity then? Go play GW2 or ESO if you want that. I play healer and certainly don't just heal nor sit around pressing buttons in one spot.

Do you not know the history of this game? It's a 180 from what it was and it's still been changed and is still getting changed. I'll say the in the current market, FFXIV is one of the most popular ones aside from WOW and ESO, GW2.

You ever been to Uldah? Try a search sometime, look for level 50 thaum/blm's and CNJ/WHM. You can even find where they are noclipping, right behind the FC chest at the GC place.

If a majority of subs were gilbots and gilsellers, this game would have gone under two expansions ago.

Healers aren't as needed as tanks tbh, this game really lacks tanks.

Why does no one want to heal? Well, because they don't want to.

I recently quit tanking because I got sick and tired of doing it. And the game got so much more enjoyable now that I have.
Those roles are not for everyone. If you want faster queues go play one of those roles don't complain to me. I'm happy to sit in my queues or use my tank to instaqueue if I need to.

Is this a problem?
Yes.
Is it one that complaining at people on the forums will do anything about?
No. And I'm very glad I don't have to tank for people like you who don't understand how to properly use the shift key.
