Is a story skipper forever lost?

Hello everyone!

For years I've played MMOs on and off, always in search of higher numbers whether that is from leveling, more damage, more mounts, more outfits, etc. It's been my driving force in the MMO worlds I have been a part of since I started playing them. The story was usually ignored by me or took a back seat to the "treadmill" type gameplay. However I have been seeing lots of posts online, videos, and even some articles about how the story is the binding force of this MMO which makes me feel like I missed out.

So now I am in a spot where I have completely finished the MSQ and most of the job quests too but I want to experience them again, this time without skipping everything. Is there a way to go back and do the story again on my progressed character? Or do I have to make an alt and play through it all that way? Are there any lore catch up videos you all would recommend?

Yes, you can with the same character. That's literally what quest sync is. You can complete quests that you've already completed again.

So you're going to party up with someone, who hasn't done the quests yet, to do them alongside them?

I think the point is that you can't just go and replay old stuff in WoW. You need to find someone who hasn't done those quests yet and feels like doing them and wants to sync with you.

The only MMO I can think of that lets you redo the story and gives a good reward would be GW2.

WoW allows you to replay content via quest sync and gives rewards for doing so.

Limiting the comparison to MMOs also feels somewhat arbitrary as NG+ is a feature that exists in a much wider variety of games.
