Okay? So that means we should just never let newcomers to the game? Because there's a shortage? I understand letting other people play the game whose been subbed but after awhile you should open it up. How do they expect the people they let in for the free trials to even enjoy the game when you can't even download the launcher again? It's because people started crying cause they couldn't get in the game due to queue times. I never had a queue issue at all. I logged in within 10 minutes every time. They should have halted the free trial/account creation. But not take down the launcher.

I don't think you understand the implications of what we just talked about.

The sole reason why they had to stop newcomers from joining is because of server congestion. I'm talking world queues in the thousands, over 10k people in line on US servers with people migrating their characters to other realms in other regions.

Square's priority here is their already-existing customer base and taking steps to ensure the game is playable for them first.

"I never had queue issues, thus they didn't exist" Ignoring the fact that the average server had you waiting FOUR HOURS OR LONGER to get into the game, so most players would find ways to stay logged in 24/7 so they wouldn't need to get back into the queue.

It only makes sense to halt ALL new sales so we don't see those queue times going even higher. Eventually people would complain about how the devs are clueless and it would permanently kill the game because of all the crybabies that spend the next 10 years trash talking the developers for something that isn't their fault.

Let me ask you this, when a concert, sports event, or movie completely sells out of tickets, do you cry that it's unfair that you're not allowed to purchase a ticket even though max capacity has been reached? That's how you sound. The servers are PAST 100% capacity and you expect the devs to just allow more people to stand in line and ♥♥♥♥♥ about why the line is so long.

As of right now, I've been in queue for an hour. Just because you're not experience queue's doesn't mean millions are not. They did it for a reason, and selling the game with queue issues would just compound the issue.

I never said the issues didn’t exist. So calm down snowflakes and fan boys. I said I never experienced it for the NA servers I was in. I also said they shouldn’t have taken down the launcher for the people that did manage to get in for the free trials. Cause if you uninstall and don’t have the set up file. You can’t get back in. Which sucks cause I’m a free trial user and now I can never get back in even though I was accepted before they stopped it.

I know why they stopped sales. Because of congestion and wanted their loyal fan base to enjoy the game first. I just said I understand that and acknowledge it. I’m saying they shouldn’t have deleted the trial launcher. I’m saying that when the subbed people finish it up then they should re open it. It’s like how do they expect to attract more fans? So I don’t understand why some of you are so heated?

I honestly think the devs are still somewhat clueless for not getting new servers from the get go considering this game has been out since 2013. Where did all the money go then? Just expansions and skins? Jeez. They could have took some of that money and upgraded their servers years ago. This shouldn’t have even been a problem. It's just that everyone, whether they are able to play the game or not, are pretty up in arms about the whole situation and are getting quite tired of it.

As for the devs being clueless though, that's stretching it. There was no reason to upgrade and acquire additional servers until recently. It wasn't until the mass exodus of World of Warcraft players this last summer that we began to start taxing the login servers and overall world capacities, in which case Square Enix did start plans for server infrastructure, but it was too late.

It is not easy to to get new or upgrade existing servers. Not saying you are one of these people OP, but there are so many clueless idiots out there who seem to think it's just a matter of "go buy a new server with all your money 4head". There are no servers to buy, there are no means to upgrade. I don't know why some people think this problem is a fabrication, but I assure them it's not. And it's not just Square Enix that is having to circumnavigate around the problem, and lot of companies across a multitude of different business structures are having to, too.

And if only you had spent 30 seconds searching for info you would know that trial accounts can't connect anyway because they are prioritizing paying customers.

Stop the drama act right now, it is not "now I can never get back in", it is "wait for servers to open like everyone else" ...

They didn't "delete" anything, what do you mean here? Are you trying to say that once paying customers have finished the MSQ, they should be booted out so that free trial users can connect? That doesn't make any sense but it fits what you are saying ^^

They did upgrade their hardware on a regular basis since ARR.
You would know that if you had searched, even just this forum.

Are you really suggesting that some people are "clueless" because they couldn't foresee a world-wide microchip shortage combined to a sudden rise in their playerbase following law issues at the main opposing MMO management team EIGHT FULL YEARS in advance?
