macros won't keep you from getting kicked out after 30 min, but sure, feel free to report...

In game macros? No. Software macros from your keyboard/mouse? They absolutely can keep you logged in. All you have to do is set them to press a key on a repeated timer and the game will register it as an active input and not set you afk.

From practical point of view yes it did, the night early access released was the first time queues started. I never saw them before that. If people had actually been playing before the expansion we might have had slightly different kind of launch. But still at most as good as the situation is now.

I mean, they've spent a year trying to get servers and all they could muster was a handful of them for EU and NA and the ones that are planned for Oceania.
Server space was never an issue until this summer, so no, they didn't need an upgrade since 2020, even for shadowbringers they worked perfectly fine with way lesser qs.
And yes, the issue basically appeared over the span of a month, because, you know, lots of streamers and a specially big one started playing. That is the reason Yoshida addressed it when he did. You're basically full of ♥♥♥♥.

Any kind of botting is a banable offense. A bot is any software that is not part of the game client to give a player an advantage. Avoiding the afk timer counts.

I've been seeing queues on Siren as far back as 2018 when I came back from a two year break. FC mates said there had been queues for a several months before I came back. There are threads on the official forums going back several years talking about the queues. For several days before the early access launch of EW, there were queues for Siren.

This is not a problem that started in 2021.
