Brand new players will be put off by this though i think.
I agree why is the game completely closing after login attempt? having to input login details every time. Annoying.
It sucks, I know. But it sucks for us paying customers too. I've been sitting in queue for an hour now and still over 1000 ahead of me.

THIS.
Game isn't going anywhere, no rush.
Still a short queue no matter what.
Then they say I can't play on free trial if there's a queue.... :P
If they just released a new expansion though, I guess I can understand. Free players can play when they have a fake queue, but not when the servers have a REAL queue.
Got it.
I am lv51 and have enjoyed the game so far so there wasn't much content on the free trial for me to see so decided to upgrade to full-game.
For 9.99 i feel it was worth it. After the 30 days is up i'll then decide if it's worth getting Endwalker and paying for a Sub.
I'm still only a level 26 or so Conjurer. And a level 2 or 3 thaumaturge. (Had to get a glimpse of the black magic :P) I chose Conjurer based on the fact that it starts in the forested capital. :P I figured if I was going to just dink around in a free game, it should be in a nice forest.
SE has a limit on number of simultaneous log ins to avoid issues when players log in to a specific character. They allow for 100 players per minute to log in. That's why there's usually always a queue and it's usually never very long.
If after a minute goes by and the number doesn't decrease or decreases by less than 100 if the queue is greater than 100, it means the world is actually full.
When I hoped into the queue at around 4 pm, I was just over 1300 in queue. This means I had at least a 14 minute wait to get into the game. It's been about 25 minutes now as there have been multiple times where a minute has passed and the number doesn't decrease.
