Am I a bad healer? Or are tanks just scared?
Competent healers like me are practically falling asleep when you do small pulls.
I try my best to communicate with tanks, to let them know that I got them covered.
But still, they hit me with the tiny pulls.

Scare me, make me blow cooldowns, earn that commendation!
I feel like I am hurting them by not trying harder to push them to do big pulls.
But I don't want to hurt them, or ruin their evening by forcing them.
As the title says, am I a bad healer? Or are tanks just scared?

If you want to be scared as a healer, play Bozja. Most of the critical encounters will keep you busy, I mean even rank 25 players get face rolled by most of the bosses.

Uh oh. Deja vu.

Quick! Someone dredge up the old topic. XD

All you can do is politely say "You can pull more if you want - I'm ready to heal it"

start pulling for tank

I think you are a bad healer.
miqz 2021 年 11 月 27 日 上午 6:03
I feel you, but there's not much you can do beyond asking the tank to pull more since with most single pulling players, grabbing aggro off mobs you pull is too advanced of a technique
Just means you're the opposite of bad honestly.

That depends.

If I see that the Healer cannot keep up then I will dial it back and try and get a feel on what they're able to do.

Had a Healer recently that couldn't keep up and caused a wipe even after I was popping my cooldowns, stunning, and the such. So after the wipe I just pulled a lot smaller and the Healer never communicated that they could do larger. Most likely as they must have been embarrassed about the wipe but it is what it is and I held no bad blood towards them.

I do feel bad for them though as I got all the Comms after the run. That can really hurt a Healers self-esteem when they not only know that they messed up but that the whole group knows it was their fault.

I'll be honest with you here since you personally asked for my opinion, it sounds like you're a bad healer. But that is okay, it's okay to be bad. FFXIV is a bully free zone and if you're committed to learn you can become better.

Look at Delphaneux laCroix, they have thousands and thousands of hours in the game game but they are still bad. That doesn't stop them from improving their grey parses though, one day they might even green or blue parse in normal raids. It's all about keeping a positive mental attitude and improving yourself. But if you perceive your tanks are 'scared' then you need to yank them around the instance by their collar and make them become a better player than they were 5 seconds ago before you went full deranged Tsundere. Trial by fire. Blood for the blood lily. :lunar2019piginablanket:

That glamour thread was fun, but this is just low quality b8. Try harder.

Sorry but you are so wrong and just full of BS. How is it the healer's fault that the dungeon takes so long? It's the tank that sets the pace of the dungeon run. Maybe the tank isnt comfortable with pulling big mobs becuase they afraid they can't handle the aggro? or maybe they just prefer to have fewer targets on screen becuase they have Tank Anxiety or something? Or maybe the tank is just stoned and drunk and just isn't paying attention or just doesn't give a F. You sound like one of those morons who blames the healers cuz they stand in aoes "WHERZ TRHE HEALS" or the classic "HEALER ADJUSTZ FOR MEZ". You didn't provide any tips or feedback, just namedropped some random name and talked about parses, lol OP if your reading this just ignore this dude's comment.

Your doing fine, I use Sprint as tank between mob pack pulls to gain a kiting advantage to outrun the enemies and sometimes the healer will fall behind so they out of range on next pack, then I change my behaviour for a new run and go slower and the healer says pull more so I do what he says. You sound like the type of healer I would enjoy tanking for, but not all tanks and healers are the same so it all just depends on the individual behind the screen. If your finding nearly every tank is doing this and you are still healing through everything then that tank is just not confident enough to do wall-to-wall pulls, not gunna lie this game has a lot of soft individuals who play this game who can't take criticism or anything at all so telling them to pull more could be construed as abusive. It's definetly more friendly than world of warcrafts community but also a lot of more strict and kind of wimpy sometimes.

This is the game in a nutshell;

Tank a dungeon - you'll wish you healed.
Heal a dungeon - you'll wish you tanked.

You'll always wish you had DPSed too.

I can count in my hand the amount of "actual" runs where all 4 players know their classes in DF since release.
