No way to pre-download?

Is there any way to download the game before starting a subscription? I have really cruddy internet and it'll be close to 2 days I'm sure to download. I'd rather start my sub when I actually can play the game or am I sol?

I should have been more clear. I'm wanting to return and resub. I've played before. But I would like to have the game installed before I start a new sub. I'd be wasting 2 days on downloading.

As far as I know, subscription fees are non-refundable. Only the game is refundable based on certain circumstances.

Guys, I'm not asking for a refund. I want to resub as I have played in the past. But it won't let me download the game in the launcher as it tells me I need to have a sub to do so. But my internet is slow and I would rather pay for the sub when the game is installed. No other mmo does this. They let you download the game no matter if you are subbed or not. I was wonder if there was a work around to this?

if you have played the game before it should still be in your library, you can download the launcher at any time, but you need to log in to download the rest of the game files, which requires a sub.

i'm not 100% certain on that, try downloading the launcher and logging in, you may not need a sub but i think you do for it to verify the login.

Is reading comprehension a thing anymore? I don't want to play the game for free. I want to be able to download it before I pay for a sub to play it again. I have crappy internet so the download will take a couple days. I don't want to have a sub when i cannot even play the game for 2 days. That is just wasting money. Every other mmo lets you download the entire game even before subbing. No, you cannot play it but at least it is installed and ready for when you do sub. Is this really that hard to understand? Or do I need to repeat myself for a 4th time?

Edit: i got my answer already so this really doesn't matter to me anymore.

Launcher won't let you download until you log in, but if you don't have an active sub at the time, it will just kick you out

unfortunately you will waste a couple of days of the sub just downloading if your net is bad

Only other way I could imagine to lessen the size is maybe get another steam account, setup a free account/trial for it, but this only gets you the base game content + Heavensward stuff

so there will still be some download after with an active/full account

You are talking about literal pocket change here dude.. in the UK is like 26p a day..

If you can't afford to "waste" (it's really not) the amount of money you could literally pick up off the streets, then i don't know what to say to you.. probably not the type of game for you.

You could probably find someone to upload their game files to you, so you download the game files from them. And then you can sub, and then you won't waste the sub time.
