Linked wrong FFXIV account to steam, how to undo?
So I linked an OLD ffxiv account to my steam ffxiv launcher and now I can't link the CORRECT ffxiv account. Anyone know how to fix this?

According to the page you can't. It says it's a one time process and their customer service has been far less than helpful on any matter around linking.

Threads like these are funny. If you don't like how they operate with how they use the Steam version, then buy the PC Download one. It's not hard. Square Enix has been perfectly clear in their EULA that they retain their right to modify the game to any extent they wish to.

I also do not know how people have issues with the Steam version. I never had any issue. If you linked a wrong account to your account, that is a user error and not Square Enix.

I'd like to note that I didn't have any issues linking my account, but this is still a stupid take on the issue. I bought this game years ago and have been playing it this whole time, and there was no account linking at the time. SE suddenly deciding to do an steam/SE account link NOW is a valid reason to complain, especially for people who have been playing on steam for years.

If you can't complete the simple linking process I don't think you have the mental capacity to even play the game

I don't think you can even do that.
I don't think you can link your Steam and your non steam PC account in one service account.
Because I know a lot of people who would rather buy a new PC account rather than deal with this mess. But that means starting over

You bought it on Steam, knowing full well that that there could be alterations.

The more I read the forums lately, the more amazed I am at how many people managed to ♥♥♥♥ up a 2 click interaction and how blatantly entitled some people are...
And I thought that dudes demanding support on unsupported platforms were bad...

so i didn't do it by accident. i assumed that i couldn't use my ps4 account so i made a new one. i recently learned that i can use my old account on pc, but i guess i have to download the pc version outside of steam. i don't think i can buy it again and get a new registration code.

Yea sure bro you apparently only have one username, and one account, and are perfect in every way. Some of us have multiple usernames and the game autologs you in through the steam launcher. The freaking WEBSITE takes an EMAIL ADRESS not a user name. Oh and to top it off if you got the wrong Square Enix website, it'll show you a different user name that is autogenerated!
Locking your account to steam is one thing, but locking it when all you do is input the wrong username is beyond ridiculous.
