PSA: XIVlauncher no longer works after todays patch

If you're using a steam account you can only login via the official launcher for now, im sure the creator will figure something out but for right now launching via XIVLauncher will give you an error :C

Edit: after this change theres really no reason why the official launcher shouldn't just login for you automatically its kinda ridiculous.

launcher is treating me like I'm a new player asking if I got an account, etc, I log in and now it wants me to reset password, WTF I don't want to reset my password, I don't need to, why is it forcing me.

What is this change even for? nobody asked for this.

I'm getting some technical error screen when I try to log in.
Seems that some others have had luck. Might just have to wait a little longer.

keep in mind that XIVLauncher is against the game ToS and breaks this forum rules too, that being said check their official discord for info on updates

I changed my password (didnt want to) and now im getting an error i cant get past, great! I just want to play

Did you connect your Steam account to a Square Enix account on the site?

Well I could give you my password and username right now and you'll never be able to login. Working as intended and will prevent even the dumbest of people from falling victim to old scams.

Before I tried logging in with official launcher my XIV launcher said it applied the patch, but the launcher is disabled so I don't know if it patched correctly or not. No idea how to check when I can finally log in with official launcher.
