While I understand the sentimentality of wanting to focus on all of the lives afflicted rather than focusing on one, some of you should be downright ashamed. That's exactly what War is. There is no war that isn't ultimately about resources. All war is inherently economic, both in conception and execution. It's why the USA's greatest asset is not its fighting men and women, but its logistical capability. It's why we do not take a North Korean or Chinese invasion seriously, because fielding, provisioning and maintaining the ground forces they have is impossible. They become immediately overextended the moment they cross their border. And it's also why the purpose of the 2nd Amendment, an armed civilian resistance against the government is impossible to defend against regardless of the military capacity, as a decentralized insurgency depletes the blood and treasure of the ruling nation even through their own battlefield victories.
