Should I migrate to Aussie server? Or stay with Japanese?
Aussie guy here.
Honestly, I love the politeness of the Japanese playerbase; especially when joining dungeons.
People wait, are patient, and generally seem to have consideration when dealing with other adventurers.

Contrast this with my usual experience with westerners on MMORPGs, where every dungeon is almost like a dash to the finish line. No hello. No goodbye.
...Just devouring content at breakneck speeds.

I'm wondering if the Aussie community retained some semblance of the Japanese 'polite courtesy', or if it went the way of most western MMO mindsets?

If people being polite and saying "hello" and "goodbye" to you like your Mum at the start and end of every dungeon, trial, and raid is worth more than being able to play with actual good ping while not having to be Nostradamus and adjust to AOE's and mechanics ahead of time, then I suggest you stay on the ♥♥♥ servers. Personally, I just enjoy having nice and playable ping instead of worrying if people are polite to me every dungeon, trial, or raid.

I heard from a number of peep in Novice Network that Party Finder and Queueing time for duty in OCE can feel pretty dead even during peak time. That's probably the reason why there're still a handful of OCE players here in JP. It's really up to you, having sub 100ms ping can be a game changer and is easier to double weave if you want to optimize your gameplay, but honestly, my ping in this game is over 150ms a lot of the times as south east asian player (4G connection) and i have barely any problem double weaving cuz I use mudfish.

In all honesty, I would stay on the Japanese datacenter if I were you.
I know exactly how you feel, and believe that 'experience' from your words would better suit you.

I would also say you could create an alt on the Oceania server and see how the 'culture' is there, that way you won't feel bad and will not have wasted money on a server move if you find it is not to your liking.

Sage advice right there.:eleven:

That was a pretty ignorant post. Who are you to judge what someone else finds valuable in a gaming experience?
Perhaps, if you have nothing of actual merit to contribute to a question, you should keep your asinine opinions to yourself?:pointless:

if the game does't come out at the start with an Australian based server adding 1 months/years after the launch never ends with it being a stable server

if they had a fake Australian server (a server hosted somewhere else) then moved it to Australia it would of done better

aaaaaaaaaaaand you're the exact kind of person he's avoiding xD

problem with the OCE server is the low pop though.
At least from what I've heard in NN in tonberry.

I haven't really played for real on the OCE server (just level an alt for the game time) but half my FC left the JP datacenter to create an OCE branch. Fast forward to start of march, now all of them deciding to move back to JP because PF is really dead there with some of them sharing that there are usually less than 15 PF parties during peak hours. DR can also be very dead according to them with queues of nearly 60 mins during peak hours.

Yeah? Wow. Well, thanks for the insight.

I think I've already made up my mind anyway, and I'll choose to stay on the Japanese servers.
Regardless of latency, I simply prefer the feeling of 'community' with the overall polite attitudes among players.

yeah, I don't get why they choose to make an OCE server instead of an SEA server.
Pop wise, that'd make more sense

and OCE player still gets a closer server than JP

I wouldnt migrate to Oceanic servers. At peak times the queue to login is around 10 and thats at around 5pm. During the day the servers are dead and queue times for duty finder is horrible. I regret moving from NA

pretty hypocritical here

Personally what i find enjoyable in dungeoneering/raiding is how fast i can complete the duty, as a tank i like the thrill of not being sure if i can survive when i pull everything and if the healer is good enough to keep me alive.

As a healer i like it when the tank pulls everything and i need to stay on edge to make sure he doesnt die.

Aussie servers are great, from my experience. I recommend either Ravana or Sophia.
