New Audio Bug? Sound completely cuts out yet works fine in windows

After the update I have been experiencing a bug in the game where the sound completely cuts out after about an hour of gameplay and a lot of zone changes. This is no different than my usual play style with no problems in the past. The audio settings have not changed in the game settings, messing with the settings changes nothing, yet when I alt tab to windows and play something with audio there it works fine.
Anyone else experience this bug? Also, is there a way to reset audio in game with some sort of console command so I don't have to keep restarting the game?

So apparently this can happen if you have a loose connection on your audio cable and it becomes disconnected during gameplay because of the way FFXIV handles audio it won't restore the audio if the source cable is disturbed.
The audio of my PC was still playing in windows when I alt tabbed out of the game to windows to see if the audio was still working and that was true after two attempts, but the cable getting bumped or disturbed is always a possibility so even a minor disturbance can make your audio cut out now it seems.

You're not the only one with these issues, Fiance and I also have the same issues but use wildly different audio set ups. However we are on the same Network switch, Mine cut out and then hers. I can only speculate that it is an Audio Sync bug across the network when multiple sounds are happening, im not an expert but thats just my initial thought

I think you are right because it seems to happen most in high traffic areas and with the release of the patch some areas are packed with people more than usual.
I have not had the bug since the two times I had it earlier today so I am really not sure what triggers it.

People always say it's from loose cables etc. it isnt. This has been a bug in this game for years and years.

If audio cuts out for some reason during gameplay, the game doesn't try to re-initialise it. So uh... you'll need to fix whatever it causing this, cause the game won't recover without a restart.

i had that ONLY once so far that the game sound completely cutted out while in duty. tho after restarting the game worked everything again like intentended o.o
it never happened again. since then.

Pretty rare for me, but it's super annoying when it happens.
