There are plenty of people who can play the brd music without using that software. Its fun to have for people like me who don't know the first thing about music, but I know several people that full on make their own music in the game.
I think people who have spent years perfecting their ability to mix vinyl on turntables would find this comparison kind of offensive TBH. Being a DJ is a lot more than pressing the play button, lol.
Or playback on stage if you will. It lacks feel ... minute changes that will always be there if you play something live, influences from the performers day, and even tiny errors.
The real fun is when two, three people jam together, i can stand and watch that for ages.
