So I tried WoW.

I thought I would give WoW a try. So many people play it I thought it must have something.
The one thing it has done for me is appreciate FFXIV more. It's light years ahead of WoW.

I honestly don't know why so many play wow, now that you have far better options.

WoW has better PvP (If you look passed from one man armies and those annoying instalocks)
FF14 has better PvE

I'm not knocking people who play wow. It's a free country. I'm just a little confused as to why. I would understand if it was the only mmo available.
Anyway I will play it again tomorrow and level up to see if there is something I am missing.

I played WoW because I loved Warcraft 3, played WoW until Mist of Pandaria was released and simply just quit because I was not happy where the game was going. Tried many other MMO's to get that WoW feel itch minus the BS PvP and eventually found FF14 after many other MMO's later.

I was playing wow in the beginning because of warcraft 3 and later on my guild(s). The last couple expansions all felt the same tho and got boring super fast. My guild more or less falling apart was just the nail on the coffin. FF14 is way easier to enjoy solo imho.

you misspelled stealing s*it from other games constantly... every new mmo that came out with a newish and innovative thing and suddenly now wow has it... the game was literally just stuff stolen from other games all kind of taped together with a light coat of warcraft lore paint.

I did have it in mind that due to the years wow has had in the game of making games that they would have perfected the interface and customisation, but it seems still rather primitive and clunky.
Fair enough the interface with FF is somewhat clunky but it works well enough. Also I would say that FF is more graphically demanding.

Games copy each others ideas all the time, it's what drives the market and isn't a bad thing at all, if you can copy something AND make it better then that's called progress and someone else will copy and possibly make it even better than you did. I personally wouldn't get at Blizzard for copying ideas.

Hey man, Genshin Impact has stolen lots of popular things from other games but people still play it, no point in throwing shade that everyone knows.

WoW has intentionally made itself not as graphically demanding so that its more accessible. As far as addons go, WoW has lots of addon support. If you dont like the default UI or the default button layout then download an addon and customize it however you want.

I will say after experiencing FFXIV’s memorable story and writing through Shadowbringers, it’s hard for me to ever go back to WoW with its incredibly shallow writing in comparison.
