want to move over from ps4 to pc with same account and have questions

so with endwalker coming i thought this would be a good time to move over to the pc version. i just have a few qestions. I know that the console and pc versions have different licences so i will need to buy the game again for pc, but does the steam version link up with existing mogstation accounts or will i need to make a new account or buy the game through SE directly?

PC will be either normal or Steam and both will link up, it just determines where you buy expansions AFAIK. So be free and get Steam if you so wish! As a word though: if you buy on Steam, ALL expansions come through Steam. you can't get retail and combine it with Steam.

Totally doable. The only thing that you CAN'T do is go from steam to windows or vice versa. You only get one PC account.

You will have to rebuy the base game and expansions obviously, but once you do you simply add it to your existing service account on the mogstation.

Yes it does link up - you wont need a new mogstation id - it was a pain in the keester lol but It does in fact link up (I did this last year so yes I do know what I am talking about). Thankfully one of my friends had made the change about a year prior so he was able to walk me through it when I hit a wall and did not think it was working.

Word of advice - make sure you save your macros and what not to the cloud on ps4 so you can upload it to the pc. You will still have to redo your hotbars, but at least things will be a smidge easier in the transition.

When I transferred, it started out with keyboard/mouse as a default so be ready to adjust that on all your alts and what not. Not sure if that has or has not changed, but its an easy fix, so dont stress.

IF you choose the steam version of FFXIV, you will need to change your payment method, so be aware of this. I was lost as to why my monthly payment was messed up. This is also an easy fix so just be aware of the change and dont let it stress you out.

Hope you enjoy the PC version - it really is a different universe from the PS4. (also, you can continue to use your ps4 if something happens to your pc so that is nice too.)

Thanks for the information I tried to get the game directly though mogstation but could not do it. I have since bought it through steam and linked my account without any issues. I haven’t actually played it on pc yet as I don’t want to buy shadow bringers twice so I’m gonna wait to fully transition to pc once endwalker is up for sale as buying that will give me all the other expansions anyway lol looking forward to finally getting rid of my terrible ps4 lag!

I linked the accounts and my payments are still done through my credit card so it hasn’t been a problem

Hi, i have also played FFXlV from Zero to Shadowbringers on PS4.
Weeks ago i buyed the game also on Steam and linked my Account to PC Version.
No problems so far with logging in on MogStation & FFXlV with my Character/Profile.
You can switch playing everytime between PS4 and PC to get PS4 Trophies.

Example: you do 10.000 Enemykills on PC and after that you log in on PS4.
Make 1 Kill (so you have 10.001) and you get the Trophy.

I remember theres also a Guide from Square Enix to switch your FFXlV Account between platforms..

How i transitioned from ps4 to pc.
- i basically bought the ff 14 shadowbringers version from steam store.
- In the login launcher i typed in my id/pw i used from ps4 ff 14 login launcher
- upon pressing the login button, SQEX "forced" me into mogstation account and made me link my steam account (also had to input the ff14 shadowbringers steam key as license verification)
- Now go and have fun with better graphics and framerates
