Can't seem to get the next story quest

I started in u'ldah and after leveling to 10 with puglist I switched to archer and continued with that (I don't know if it makes a difference, just mentioning it)

I went down the questline in ul'dah and after the quest duty,honor,country I can't find any quest giver with the main story quest icon, I searched the internet and it was supposed to be momori that gives it to me , but she just says a piece of text

has this happened to anyone else?

is it a bug or do I have to wait a couple of days or something?

what does the Main Story Guide tell you?
by default it is on the top left of your UI

the quest log on the side of your screen can only hold so many quests. Press J and you'll open up the full log.

You most likely accepted some side quests and pushed the main quest down too much.

To expand on the post above this one, upon opening your journal, you can mark quests as priority or to be ignored by clicking the box next to it, one click sets it to priority, meaning it will always be at the top of your quest list, and two clicks will set it to be ignored, meaning it won't appear on your quest list, but you will still have it accepted.

I would advise setting any Main Story Quests as priority to prevent this in the future.

sorry for the inconvenience, it took me about 1 day of running around but I figured it out, I was supposed to talk to the guard outside of the heart of the ...something something in order to get back into it and talk to owyn and get the next part of the quest, when I exited during the previous quest I didn't notice that the guard had a name and thus could be spoken to

btw thanks for the tip for the main story guide, I didn't even notice ,I just thought it always showed the next quest you should take (like in the recomendations tab)
