Why say “GG” after awful performance?
Look, I understand that community in this game is super friendly, helpful and nice in every aspect you can imagine, but really, typing “GG” in party chat after numerous deaths, poor performance and another stressful run is just ridiculous. I mean, either way people do this automatically, on exit, without paying much attention or they just want everyone to sense irony in their words.

If it was a bad run, dont try to reassure other people that it was actually OK. Sure, you dont want and you dont have to start blaming someone in your party before exit, but try to make them understand they can do better than that.

I can assure you it isnt used like that in this game. Players actually looking to clear the content in a reasonable manner gets labelled as toxic elitists, while the underperforming pepegas screwing up time after time wasting everyone elses time gets coddled and showered with GGs.

Actually, thats exactly how I see current situation.

It's always a GG for me if nobody blames or insults, despite performance.

From my experience, everything is better if you are proactive and reasonable. It is transmitted between players.

This allows people to clearly say '' first time here '', and not be afraid of a teammate calmly explaining how mechanincs works, instead of saying: '' S**t, a ****** noob ''. That's one of the best things about the game.

It's good sportsmanship, and I when I started saying it, I originally intended it to be directed to the boss, as in "Well, Cloud of Darkness, you lost to all 24 of us, but good game!"

I would rather have a newbie that's trying and failing a little than a try-hard that aces the dungeon and yells at the newbie. I have way more fun playing with the noob. Way, way more fun.

I'll happily spend a few fights floor tanking while the new healer figures stuff out. If I don't, I can never expect them to get better! If I'm mean at the end, I surely don't increase my chances of them improving. Mean doesn't motivate people to get better, it just makes them feel bad.

If they have played awful and do it then it is them trying to pretend they where trolling instead of that they just did poorly/

GG is just like saying ty. If the content is cleared that is good enough for me

Yeah, although since majority of players in X|V is not even close as toxic as usual audience of MOBA games, I believe only a few people here type that with sarcasm.
It's more that they wait for a designated, "OK to bully" target. I had some guy be kind of a ♥♥♥♥ to me a few weeks back (I believe he said more or less 'yeah I can tell you're a new player because of your gear and how you play") and I had like half the alliance raid group start hammering on this guy to white knight me. I had to tell them I'm not mad and to knock it off so we can actually clear the dungeon. The "mean" guy was having a bad day and didn't mean to be a ♥♥♥♥ so it really was no problem but these other self-righteous people felt like they all needed to step in to rescue the poor new player who really didn't care. Basically getting offended on my behalf when I couldn't care less then just unleashing on this guy.

Only reason NOT to do such, would be an attempt to make someone feel bad or what ever.. so why not just GG and move on.

It really depends on the situation. If it's someone new to a dungeon/trial/raid and they announce it to the group then they'll be more understanding and forgiving for mistakes usually. Hell, people are more forgiving if you mention that you haven't done the dungeon/raid/trial in awhile as well.

I explicitly stated I think that “GG” doesnt fit to problematic runs for the sole reason you can make people understand that they can do better than that. I do not want someone feel “bad” after that. I say “TY” or “BB” and I believe thats still polite and friendly way to bid farewell. Its just I want to be honest at the end and dont regret about things I have said.
