Essence useage in Bozja

Could someone enlighten me on the subject of the various different Essence?
If everyone and their mother is always crying and throwing a tantrum over people NOT using attack boosting essences, why do we even have the defensive ones?
Ofcourse we have the few people saying "just use any essence, thats fine" but as soon as a mentor or various other wonderfull people spots a black mage with a Veteran essence instead of Martialist, hooh boy prepare for trouble.
So which is it? Any essence is good, or Damage boosters only? because I ran out of Martialist weeks ago, RNG hates me, and I am tired of playing tank.

Well I use beast essence to keep myself alive in bozja when grinding. Skirmishes when attacking.

Just so you know all essences can be bought in MB. Some of them are really cheap

I am dps. Though. I think blood sucker is for tanks and the very good one that increases all stats pure essence of the indomitable

yup, bought 300 for like 400k the other day, but it wasnt the one that gave Skirmisher*, that one is expensive on my server.
*edit: I wrote martialist, meant Skirmisher, The DPS booster.

what the- are people actually confronting you in Pug content about what essences to use?
♥♥♥♥ that, use what you got but at least use one is what I say. I'm in the same boat as you I have a very limited # of Skirmisher ess and other "DPS" boosting ones so I've been using Beast, no one been saying anything to me about it (playing as a healer is a crapshoot because there's usually so many in dalriada, castrum and delubrum raids)

also....who really cares what mentors say anymore?


now if its DR savage then you should be trying to use the right one,no question

Oh absolutely! Savage is a whole other can of worms!
But on average, every 5th* run of Litore, Delubrum, and Dalriada, I have seen complaints about it "going too slow" and "please look up mechanics on youtube before ATTEMPTING it!"

Aye that might very well be it, I'm still stuck on the 18 Void Arks and 18 Ivalice (or FATEs in their respective zones) and I just cant be bothered with it any more.

The Essence is to give you boosts. We have defence, HP, Damage Dealt, Or combination of both. What would you prefer? It depends.

When Im farming ALONE, I prefer using Breathltaker + 20 resistance auto-potion with black mage. I could stuff myself all alone with a lot of awakening fragments and sell them 5k each. That's how I made myself a lot of money only from bozja.

But that's all. Dont mind others about the essence.
Are your farming for CE/Mettle? Dont mind.
I did myself, I got a DEFENSIVE essence to my RDM, cuz I was too lazy and I was doing work while I wait for CE to pop and just do it for the farming.

All of that, If you are planning to do the Delubrum Reginae Savage, you must be with the correct essence. Otherwise, you will be dying in the First AoE.

Tanks: Pure Essence of the Indomitable, Lost Aethershield, Banner of Noble Ends/Honored Sacrifice, Lost Sacrifice

Healers: Pure Essence of the Divine, Lost Arise, Lost Seraph Strike, Banner of Solemn Clarity
Melee: Pure Essence of the Duelist, Banner of Honored Sacrifice, Lost Font of Power, Lost Rend Armor (two per raid group)

Ranged: Pure Essence of the Fiendhunter, Lost Dervish, Banner of Noble Ends, Lost Font of Power, Lost Cure II

Caster: Pure Essence of the Elder, Lost Flare Star (one per raid group), Lost Cure IV, Lost Font of Magic (if there are two casters in party), Banner of Noble Ends

Your only option is to buy them of them MB or farm them from whatever drops them.

And people want damage buffing essences for things like DR to make it go faster....because it is kinda boring

So is Crystal tower, but for some reason that doesnt bother them, they actively seek it out by cheesing the roulette
Back on the topic though: I scan the MB every day for the right fragments, but DPS is very much in demand.
