Check your Healer!
I thought this is common knowledge in MMORPGs, but apparently some do not know this.

I was aware that dungeon running is faster here than in WoW Classic for example and i had absolutely no problems up until now.

This tank pulled more than it was good for him, which wasnt that much of a problem because i like a challenge, but not checking the healer at all and just straight jumping into the next fight everytime is an atrocious gameplay. Even doing that after i said in chat that i need Mana is ridiculous. Luckily we only had one wipe, but i am certain that it would have been way more with a casual healer.

This isnt even a problem of having played the dungeon so many times that the tank just want to rush through, its just disrespectful to the whole team. So please, check your damn healer. I shouldnt even have to say this after like 20 years of MMORPG existence.

Yeah I had tanks just ignore the healer or the rest of the party and just rushing through the entire dungeon alone then dying.

I luckily had only one, but i am also focusing on quests rather than dungeons right now. Doesnt sound good that you had several experiences with such people.

Hmm. Mine was an experienced player. He had a flower next to his name, which apparently means that he has more than 160h in the game and he certainly knew the dungeon.

Flower icon is for players who returned to the game after skipping at least 45 days and have atleast one class at 50, iirc. So they may not be experienced at all.

Or they may be experienced, but rusty.

Currently running dragoon and I do my best to look out for any enemies targeting the healers and spellcasters. Tanks are beefy boys and most of them have damage negation/healing abilities so they should be able to get the big bad targeting them and hold their own while I pluck off the minions. Anyone running a DPS - especially disciples of war - should keep one eye on their healers and spellcasters in light party dungeons especially.

Like idk this sounds like it would be basic RPG party setup knowledge not just for FF14 but any game with specified roles in a party? And tanks dont need to aggro every single enemy on a floor in one sitting why do they keep aggroing every single thing that moves oy vey.

Okay, I know there's a bonus for speed but like...slow and steady, okay? Make sure everyone knows the gimmicks of a dungeon and check that theyre ready before entering the boss ring. :squirtmeh:

Not to make a WoW joke but lots of these new guys keep Leroy Jenkins-ing these dungeons and buddy this aint Azeroth :lunar2020stoicox:

This is a question: A foreigner has a culture where they tip after eating a meal in respect for the service the staff gives, They go eat at a restaurant that the culture finds tipping their staff disrespectful thing to do. So if they tip are they respectful or disrespectful?

What you call "Atrocious Gameplay", is the common norm of the Final Fantasy XIV Community. To say that it is the Tanks fault. No, it is just how the community works, because they created the tank mentality, Go Big or Go Home.

As a Tank Main since Patch 2.35, and one of the things that is pressured onto the Tanks even since then, You pull more then 1-2 group of enemies, or we are going to pull more for you. Don't be shy Pull More.

As such it has been engrained in me, by the community, that I have to pull Wall to Wall, unless someone asks me to go slow.

It is not disrespectful, it is the Cultural Norm. You are in a different Community, and this is how the Community does it. So like the old saying goes: "When in Rome, do as the Roman's Do".

Adjust your healing, or you ask politely for the tank you adjust for you.

True, but even when not experienced, the tank should know basic gameplay of MMORPGs. He was experienced though, could tell by his behaviour. Knew the dungeon, knew the enemies to pull behind corners.

Oh, i have no problems with pulling more than its good for the tank. Like i said, i do like a challenge and i was able to heal properly 95% of the run. But it cant be FF14 mentality to toally ignore the healer, especially when he states that he needs Mana.

This is one of the main mentalities as well. If you running low on Mana, Pop Lucid Dreaming and regain your mana for the next coming group. This is somethign I am learning from my Healer Main friends as I am trying to get past my Healer Anxiety in this game.

I already had Lucid Dreaming on CD throughout the dungeon and popped potions. Cant generate Mana out of thin air.

Depending on the level of the dungeon, healers might struggle with mana even with lucid. They might not have their other skills to mitigate the mana usage and their other ogcd. This combine with multiple wall to wall pulls without a breather can cause the healer to run out of mana.

i had that once too. he ran through the complete dungeon and then got killed by that flappy eye thing, the mobs killed then the rest of the party ... and he srsly tried to blame it onto the group and left ... me and teff tried samurai in that dungeon x3

tho i play healer now too =3 i swapped around with teff. so, if ya ever see a chira and teffers as heal/tank. dont worry. we are in discord call and know what we do ... atleast most of the time xD.

That seems to be the primary problem. I assume people tend to forget that low level dungeons cant be run the same as high level ones because of the missing skills. I still have to use mana for everything and i still can only cast Regen and Cure 2 as single-target heals.
