Just Purchased and Can't Run Can't Update Patch Files 11003 20403

Beyond disappointing...Just purchased and it won't start. I've tried everything the web has on these 2 errors and nothing for me. And of course it said no refunds when I purchased on steam. What can I do? I want to try playing but I don't want this hassle every time I try to.

but to be honest, if an error like this disapoints you already will the slow start in a realm reborn totally crush you xD.

This does scare me. Looks like a wasted $20. Crazy that so many games just work and then someone makes something like this that behaves stupidly.
Edited: Forgot to mention that my hr long attempt at installing has added 18 mins to my game play time. LOL I can't even get it to download the files to play.

nono i mean with that, that the game before you reach heavens ward is ... kind of ... slow and feels ... a bit sluggish .. but it really ramps up around level 50 and upwards and the battle system starts to make fun. so when you start ... just keep in your head it will get better, just gotta survive ARR ^^.

so stay strong and putt your eyes onto heavens ward xD!

If you're Aussie and having trouble with the download of the game (due to crappy caching/routing from ISPs like Optus) you will need a VPN to download the game from launcher to make it work well (i used express vpn)

Don't bother doing any other technical troubleshooting (i wasted a day before doing the vpn)

Good news is with VPN i get 120ping to japanese servers, without it its 180 (thanks again Optus)

recommending a vpn is a bad idea, one of my friends (teffers) lives in australia. he tried that and he screwed 2 trail accounts up with it cause SE locked him out of the account cause not longer the correct region. just dont do that ...

I shouldn't have to falsify my location to make a game work that I paid for. I'd settle for my money back if that is the best they can do!

You don't use the VPN to make your account in a different region

You make an account and pick Australia as region (Which will give you the EU store as its PAL from console days)

You only use the VPN to download the game when you are at the launcher stage, and if you want to for a better connection to the game itself (i currently play with express vpn on the melbourne node rather then normal optus in melbourne, 120 ping vs 180 ping to japanese servers)

Its the only way to download the game via launcher that works on Optus. trust me i tried everything else and its the final step i had to take

Also, these two errors have existed for a while. Lots of people suggest just keep restarting the download and eventually it'll get done. The download speeds for the launcher are notoriously bad.
