Very disappointing cant party or add friend in free trial
A friend and I wanted to check this game out so we both DLed the free trial. However we found we cannot party with each other or add each other as friends. Very disappointing. We both passed on the game due to that.

There's not that much you can do together as new players anyway, so it's probably best you passed if that was all you cared about.

Thats why it's a trial.
To test out the game.
Why should a f2p player get all the things a paying one has?

Thank you. I've been saying this for ages.
Add to this a bunch of F2P players screaming about "Equal Treatment" being pushed to the back of the line in Player ques. Of course paying customers will be put first. The entitlement of F2P players is astounding

Buy the game and you won't have to deal with the limitations of the demo.

Even the term "F2P player" seems wrong given that it's literally just supposed to be a demo. It's called the FFXIV: Free Trial for a reason. The game is not F2P. I think it's incredibly generous given what it is. Not many games give you the first 100+ hours for free.

It's a great way to convince your friends to give the game a shot once you're already playing. It isn't really intended for more than trying the game out though.

I honestly dont think being disappointed in not being able to do basic things like add a friend or party up is entitlement. These are basic things in an mmo.

uh really? in for example the WoW trail can you not add friends, you can not create a group, you can not join a guild, heck you cant even whisper peoples! sorry but your argument failed here.

Agreed. As I said, I've been saying the same or similar for ages. Sadly, however, I dont get to coin terminology lol

Yeah being disappointed is not equal to entitlement. I mean, you know that it's a free trial, and that these things exist in the game, but you're only playing a limited version of the game for free. Like a demo disc back in the day. Doesn't mean you can't be disappointed, or else you're entitled. It's all good bro. Some people just misread things. They think you're like insulting the game or something and get very defensive. Have fun with whatever other game you choose to play with your buddy. May I suggest Grim Dawn? (If you like ARPGs)

Someone mentioned in another post that a free trial player can create or join a link shell or was it cross world link shell so that is at least something.

Then buy the game

In my experience I only run dungeons with my friend while I do the job quests & MSQ solo. If you want to do dungeons together just ask someone to invite you both to their party before queueing up.

Free trial is annoying to play in, is why I picked the game up during the Steam sale. But honestly, that's the entire marketing goal of the free trial. You can play the game, get hooked and then end up buying the game out of annoyance for the locked out features.

I don't mind people like you passing on the game as long as the rest of us actual paying customers don't have to deal with endless spam from trial accounts.
