Getting married: clothing question
In the Ceremony of Eternal Bonding, is there any requirement at all that the bride/groom wear the clothing given to them at the start of the marriage quest? Or could we show up wearing (as a bad, BAD example) chocobo suits or plate mail?

Considering I've seen a marriage where the lady was in full heavy armor and the man was only in subligar, I'm fairly certain they don't have requirements for what is worn.

There are no requirements, however if you wish for your ring to be shown durning the trading rings portion of the ceremony, you will need to remove your gloves.

The wedding ring still shows over the Scripture healer gloves. My character has those on, and you can still see her wedding ring glamour worn over it. I don't know if that still applies in the cutscene, though.

Well I would assume, if you can see it outside the cutscene then you should be able to see it inside. I have seen many ceremony in which the ring had not been shown due to equipped gloves, but I havent been to a wedding since scrip came out so must be an update feature!

Mine also didn't show up (male character), so I'm assuming hes talking about male characters, they have those full hand gloves.

Also you can glamour it over other rings, if that interests you, OP.

I'm aware the wedding gear can be glamered (in fact I've done so already), but glamers have restrictions like "you can't make a lvl 1 piece of gear look like a lvl 50 piece of gear", and the wife was worried part of her costume wouldn't work.

If there really is just no restrictions though, then awesome! Thanks for the replies, everyone ^_^

Heck I've seen people do it in their undies.

Yeah but did you check that they weren't just wearing a wedding dress glamered with The Emperor's New Robe?
Distinguishing between "Actually being in your underwear" and "Looking like you're in just your underwear" is the purpose of my question, you see.

No, they were in undies. There truly is no restriction. Seen undies or people in their regular battle gear.

Seen one where both groom and bride were doing the 'backless' apron thing, i.e. naked apron?
