Why is Cape Westwind one of the hardest trials in the game?

I've done Cape Westwind multiple times and it is still one of the hardest trials in the game, especially for sprouts.

Imo, they should tone down the difficulty and mechanics.

It’s a leftover fight from 1.0 but the difficulty spike was way, way too hard for what 2.0 established as normal. Supposedly they reused it to save time and altered some stuff to make it more in-line with progression but it’s still a major blindside to players.

memes aside, anyone tried to do it with minimum iLevel sync on? does that change much?

For even more memes, use custom markers to spook sprouts/new players into thinking it will be a hard encounter.

NGL, as a sprout I was taking cover when I see markers there and someone yell "WATCH OUT FOR THE CANNONS"

I love Cape Westwind memes as much as the next gal, but I do honestly think it can cause problems. Same with people hyping up the 'difficulty' of Prae fights.

Because then those sprouts go into Crystal Tower and think statements like "Stand on pads for ancient flare or we wipe" are more memeing, instead of actual facts.

I'm glad this got necro'd, honestly. It's hilarious, and newbies aren't gonna get the meme.

So this fight, when OP made the post, was the easiest trial evah in ARR. It was one of those 'take too long to load in and the boss is dead' fights. This thread was originally a meme thread.

With the recent changes, it's now properly difficult, and we're getting threads that are about it being actually hard.
