Friend can't join my server...

So friend got the game to play with me....Friend picked my data center Crystal and world Zalera and says he's unable to make a character on my world and hes waited 4hours for it to let him and still not working.

What now?

Wait until he can make a character. If there's too many people online and trying to login, it restricts the ability to make new characters so people already there can play without lag issues.

Wow he went to bed like 10mins ago how crappy he waited so patiently. That's the way it goes I suppose...I hope he can make his character after he gets off work since he had it set in stone to play today but couldn't due to the dumb servers not allowing it.

FF14 almost never has lag issues and the queue times to get in when theres a bottleneck are fast. This system provides stability and speed where most other MMOs use megaserver systems that are plagued by lag and giant, multi-hour queue times during expansion releases.

Be disappointed that it prevented your friend from making a character but youll love that this is the system when you realize youve never had the server lag out and cause a wipe during a trial.

I understand that man, I do. I love Final Fantasy. Also was happy to have my friend play with me also and was a bit sad to how dedicated to waiting he was to go to bed disappointed is all. Idk sucks for sure.

I mean look at it in his point of view...Spent money to get all the xpacks and sub'ed to the game and patiently waited 4 hours to be unable to play the game.. Lol deftly bummer from the players prospective however you look at it... I'm going to let him know that the servers came up around 3:10am I'm unsure if he can stay up that late but he might have to push his schedule if it secures him a character slot on Zelara apparently haha.

Have you considered getting a new friend?

Just kidding. If you're such good friends and you haven't invested in your current character too deeply, you can always create a new character where he can get in.

Sadly I'm peeking the end of the story in Shadowbringers and this is my 3rd account I've gotten to max level on over the years due to forgetting passwords lol. Not sure why but FF14 sub/website system use to confuse me hardcore. Good news is I made sure to get stream version this time. After doing ARRB MSQ for a 3rd time I never want to do it again lol.

Your friend COULD have played on another server and just logged in and swapped to your server to play with you. Owning the game does not guarantee you a spot on every server

My husband and I encountered this same issue. However, in looking at the server statistics, he found out that things were way quieter relatively early in the morning. So we just waited until the next morning and made our characters on the same server then.

I don't think it's normally like this, but there's been an influx of new people due to certain events (which I don't think SE was remotely prepared for) so a little patience is in order.

Data Center and World travel exists. If you guys play on a server in the same region one of you can just travel to the other's server.

Once the congestion issue is over with you'll be able to transfer your character to another server if you want, though the only real restriction you guys will have when playing together by not being on the same server is not being able to join the same FC.

If being in the same FC is important, I would suggest you to transfer your character to a server in Dynamis so that you can both be in the same server. If being in the same FC is not important then it doesn't matter which server he chooses as long as it's in one of the 4 NA Data Centers. (Primal, Aether, Crystal and Dyanmis). I'd strongly suggest your friend to create a character on Dynamis because of the ridiculous EXP boost for new characters in these servers.

Why not just contact SE to fix the forgotten password issue.

The servers are congested and will likely remained that way for a long long time. Have your friend make his character on Dynamis and then one of you can Data Center travel to ther other person to play together.
