Reinstalling with new account

I tried this game out a bunch of years back, played for a bit got bored and uninstalled. Thing is i also deleted my account at the time,now recently ive been thinking about giving it another try so i reinstalled and (obviously) had to make a new account. Now ive done that but when i open the launcher and log in with my new account it asks for a "registration code" which i assume is the one i got when i bought the game all those years ago. Which means ive obviously already used it. Which is a problem. What do?

New Steam account and new cd-keys.

If you made a new account and deleted it, or do not want to use it, you cannot re-use the key. You will need to buy it again and register that new code to your new account.

There's no getting around it unless you use your OLD account.

Well like i said i already deleted the old one years ago.
No way but to make a new steam huh... yeah there's no way im doing that for just one game.

You don't need to make a new Steam, really. Just log into your new account and register a new code to that, then you are good. If the problem then is that Steam won't let you buy it again on the same Steam account, you could always delete the old license from your Steam account and re-purchase and use that new code on your new SE account, I'm pretty dang sure.

You don't need to make a new Steam, really. Just log into your new account and register a new code to that, then you are good. You can't. If you remove a game from your Library and buy It again, you'll receive the same exact license key you got with the previous purchase. That's how Steam works

You can't. If you remove a game from your Library and buy It again, you'll receive the same exact license key you got with the previous purchase. That's how Steam works

When you say you deleted your account, did you actually contacted SE support and asked them to delete It, because that's the only way to do it. If not, try to login with your "old" user and pass

99% sure its gone yeah, and even if it isnt theres no way my goldfish brain is remembering it after all this time.
Guess i could just buy the game from some other source but im not THAT desperate to play it, this was more of an "on a whim" kind of thing anyway. Still, thanks for the advice.

You can't. If you remove a game from your Library and buy It again, you'll receive the same exact license key you got with the previous purchase. That's how Steam works

WOW! That is so damn stupid!

I guess his other option would be to buy the Steam version from another site, and use the code there on his new Mog Station account, but then that might be annoying as well.

Steam support might be able to actually remove the license from his account though, so it's worth chatting to them about it! :)

If you want to play it ever again though, Mog Station is much cheaper 90% of the time (more sales) and no annoying headaches like this. lol

You can make a new steam account JUST for the CD key. Log in to that one, buy the game, get the new account setup and registered, then switch back to your normal Steam account for starting the launcher going forward. It's a hassle to make a new steam account for the new CD key, but you don't have to keep logging into it to play. Just for creation.

you deleted your account on mogstation or the character on it? if you just deleted the character and still have the account you can just login using it no need to buy the game again and if the launcher is asking for a key you can skip that part that thing is from the old version of the game that they didnt botter to remove

Honestly, the most simple way would be just using the non-Steam trial, and buy the full version from the SE store or any non-steam third party seller. Aside from being able to use your Steam Wallet, there's nothing different between the two PC versions.

You can also search in your inbox for an email from SE. When you created your Service Account, you should've received a mail that mentions your username. Having the correct username and email may do things easier when contacting SE support to ask them for help to revolver your account, reset the password and that stuff

im pretty sure you can unregister the game key from the old account as thats what i was about to do, it was stated on the site it could only be done Once in a lifetime so you can probably unregister the key and then re-register it to new account

squareenix chat support is how i got my account back i made in 2016 - they removed the one time password, sent me an email with my recovery question and answer and i was able to easily change my password and get back into it but ive yet to buy a sub as im still deciding
