Stop locking the campaign progress behind dungeons
I am somewhere at level 24, and cannot progress the campaign due to the fact i still have to run tam tara, the dungeon. I dislike dungeon. I cannot stand dungeons. Even that much i still do not even know if i ever want run them. My wish would be the devs would stop locking the campaign progress behind dungeon visits.

The dungeons are part of the story. If that's a deal breaker, move on to another game. There's no way that the guts of all of the old content is going to be rewritten at this stage in the game's life

I would suggest you find a guild or just a couple of friends who play the game. This is an MMO, a story focused MMO even, so dungeons are only going to get more prominent as you go forth. Tam-tara isn't that hard, just reading a guide should be enough for you to breeze through it with randoms. 5 min in que, less if you are a tank or a healer.

And if dungeons are such a massive turn off for you, then you should probably ask youself, what are your desires and expectations regarding this game.

Stop playing MMOs. They're clearly not for you.

It's an RPG. RPGs have dungeons.

Final Fantasy has always had dungeons.

If dungeons bother you that much that you feel like you need to come on here, organize a group to do it. Or just have somebody help carry you through it. This is why we have free companies etc.
Well, lets say it this way:

I do not like multiplayer dungeons. Where you have to wait 30-40 Minutes to find players to play the dungeon in like 20 minutes.

My advice is to use the party finder and look into discords etc.

Or if you want to join dungeons faster. Use roles that are in demand. Healers/Tanks have a significantly lower wait time than DPS because DPS are a lot more abundant than tanks and healers. Since most people feel apprehensive of tanking and healing because of the responsibility involved.

TL:DR, Make a tank or Healer and watch the Queue times drastically drop to mere minutes.

I understand the reluctancy to do dungeon delving with other people, besides the waiting time.

If you stuck to wait for other people to join up beside using Party Finder. Use your time to do crafting and gathering. Or go to Golden saucer and play minigames.

I learned to do other things while queueing / waiting for dungeons.

What does annoy me about dungeons in FF14 is that a lot of the fights I would prefer to fight with the Scions rather than real people for the sake of the story.
Level up your Grand Company rank, to unlock Squadron. In turn, do daily squadron missions. Eventually you will get the option to do dungeons with your squadron.

If you prefer playing with Scions, get to Shadowbringers MSQ.

Find a free company to join ask if people wanna do this or help you out to get you going. All it takes is teaming up with a healer or tank and boom you are set for a short queue or play those roles yourself they can be quite fun

I would rather like to be able to play the leveling up content fully solo. Without large queue times or the idea to have to commit to a company. I play very irregularily, i do not think there will be a lot of players online during my free time very often.

I believe if Square Enix would adress solo players in the leveling process and even in endgame content, they would adress way more players than nowadays.

So, Square Enix, if you wonder why many players stop playing while leveling, i would like to suggest to allow solo players full access to the campaign without the need for a lot of commitment to either premade groups or long queue times.

Beside that, the early gameplay is very dull due to the large GCD.

Press a button.. wait.. wait.. wait.. press next button.. wait.. wait.. wait..

No.

Wow, that's so cool. Thank you I will do that.
This would also be a good option for the op.

Yeah... problem is with Squadron, OP still to do few dungeons tied to MSQ until he get to the first Trial (Ifrit) and finish it before OP can unlock Grand Company.

Not to mention the AI of the squadrons is horrible.

Join an FC, make friends, do dungeons with people you like, go unsynced if you don't meet the 4-man requirement.

There's always ways.

You don't like dungeons? You're going to hate later on when you HAVE to raid to progress. Actually if you continue playing im 100% sure you're going to make another thread about it. I look forward to it

Imagine playing FF14, an MMO game and get surprise pikachu face when the game wants you to do group content.

There is difference between "game wants you to do group content" versus "game locks your singleplayer progression being forced group content with queue of up to 20+ minutes on an MMO known for its singleplayer qualities".

Story dungeons are cool, waiting 20+ minutes on a queue just to progress in singleplayer story is not. Especially not when that happens 3 times in row at level 20

Level a healer if you're having issues with queue times. Healers don't have queues.
