How long until I reach Heavensward if I play for the first time?

A rough estimate, please. I heard the game kicks ass once you get beyond ARR.

As new player i'd guess something between 40-100 hrs maybe

Can't remember how long it took me. Maybe around 50-100 hours. i didn't rush at all when i played it. since i actually enjoyed the story, and i knew it was necessary to get most out of the later expansions.

it's a bit rough getting through the last part. i didn't want to overlevel too much for heavensward. so i ended up making a secondary class just to even it out a little bit.

I'm at the post-patch quests and the story is so incredibly boring... Does it really get better at HW? I subbed to give this game a second shot after I couldn't take it anymore last time I played

It does get a lot better. i had been in your position once. but on my second playtrough i got past that point and really enjoyed HW.

I found the ARR end line to be a bit of a slog. HW was more interesting for sure.

Took me 160 hours.
80 1-50 and 80 for the unforgiving, AWFUL questline from 2.0-2.5.

What's with the trend of people being so overdramatic about 2.x? Especially after it got trimmed of some quests? You haven't played a single JRPG in your life or something?

I wouldn't recommend you rush. I did mostly because I'm used to the WoW way of doing things. I just started a new character so I can properly see the story.
