I did lol, I was never too far in on Shadowbringers late game and was a filthy booster, this time I wanna experience every bit of content from the beginning!
I have no idea if my computer could run that.. I am using a 1080p monitor and I'm aiming for something around 100-120 fps.. 4k resolution would totally mess that up. I do have a 4k TV but 60hz would ruin it. I don't really notice the flickering while actively doing harder content, I more notice it when running around in older areas, there is some intense flickering going on sometimes D:
Yeah, no way.
For reference, a 3080 Ti struggles with 1440p/144hz in FF14. 4K with 100+ FPS isn't happening. I'm sure it would help with the aliasing for someone who has very good hardware but is still gaming at 60hz though.
yeah was kinda thinking that this is kinda unrealistic and I prefer the smooth feeling a higher refresh rate gives me.. and having "only" a 2060 I think that everything above 1440p would be a nightmare when it comes to staying above 80ish fps (that's kinda the sweet spot for me where it starts looking nice)
So from all the recommended fixes for the image quality I think I'll stay away from most until a proper fix from Square comes out!
But I've got one problem that's been driving me crazy...I can't record anything at that res Lol. OBS and Shadowplay both go ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ if you try to record anything over 4K standard res. I could somewhat get OBS to work at 5120 x 2133, but that res still has jaggies and the videos always had lag in them with ffmpeg hevc_nvenc. Is there any solution to this? If not, I'm going to just have to stay at 3840 x 1600 and mess around with the GShade Suite so I can have recording options. I played around with that a bit and made some tweaks that I liked, but then I start loading up on MXAO variants that cost like 20 FPS per. At that point I decided if I'm going to waste performance on that, I might as well get rid of it and just go hard on the DSR for better performance, less jaggies, and original shading.
Also this isn't true. 1440p is nothing for my Strix 3090. A 3080 Ti is not much weaker. But it depends on whether or not you're running it on air or custom loop like me. I run 3840 x 1600 ultrawide at 144 FPS locked in the wilds and dungeons no problem. 90-100+ FPS at 5120 x 2133 DSR. But my rig is also high end and OC'ed to the brink. 5950X running at 4.7Ghz CCD0, 4.6Ghz CCD1, 3600mhz Very tight CL14 timings. 7GB/S NVME SN850, and my GPU is at 2115mhz core with +1000 on memory. Though the game doesn't let the GPU push core that hard since it's not demanding enough.
