Whats the easiest class to play?
Tired of forcing myself to play WoW. What class is equivalent to a Hunter in WoW in terms of difficulty?

Hmm. A DPS class maybe. As Tank or Healer, you have to concentrate on others. As DPS, you concentrate on damage dealing mostly.

I'm trying to decide between this and WOW...

I was looking at going back and playing the classic wow or TBC. but idk.

I had been a long time everquest player but that game has long died :(

Well equivalent to hunter nothing really.
But you got the Archer which later gets to be a Bard which uses a Bow at least.
If you want pets you go Summoner which is more akin to a Warlock though

Machinist while easy, its very clicky with its buff phase and a lot of spamming

Your right for machinist. She/he need to take archer for bard later.

An easy class to start as would be Lancer or Archer. DPS classes are easy to play and since they're beginner classes they'll teach you the basics and ease you in; so you can get more comfortable with playing other classes and trying them all out

from my experience white mage is the easiest and laziest class to play X3 2nd nature to me

What about Samurai, Dancer, or Red/Black Mage? I like the casting idea.

All of those except Black Mage are unlocked later on. DPS classes are not easy to play in my opinion, their rotations are the hardest compared to Tanks and Healers and some of them are downright hectic compared to what you might be used to. Black Mage has an easy rotation but a very high skill ceiling.

Thanks Glue. I wanted to learn the game before tanking/healing so I dont get kicked from groups

I see you are used to toxic communities. People in this game will not kick you for that. I have played this game for almost 2k hours and I have encountered a bad apple only once. When I tanked/healed a fight for the first time, I just told everyone that I'm new and they explained to me stuff if I asked. Everybody's very friendly and chill.

Tanks and healers have simple DPS rotations, because it is not the main thing that they do in battle. Whether healing is hard or not usually depend on your party. It does feel like healing is way more relaxed in FF14 than in WoW though.
Black Mage is fairly simple rotation wise, but they have to minimize their movement to do proper damage. You have to know the fight really well to do it.
I suggest you try archer and maybe switch to machinist later.

I ended up making a lancer. Got to level 8. Seems fun so far
