Endwalker key not working?

So i bought Endwalker from the square store and the key isnt working. Is that because i play ff14 via steam and not via website? Or why is the key not working?

Endwalker key only works when the expansion releases in november.

Steam version does also not work if you bought the key outside of steam

Can't mix Steam and SE website versions of the game. To play the xpac with your steam game, you have to buy it on steam.

Also yeah, Endwalker isn't released yet.

Use the pre-order key it says to use on your email. The actual key you don't put in until Nov 23rd of jts official release.

Like people have explained the Endwalker key can't be used until the expansion is out. The PRE-ORDER BONUSES key however can be used right now.

You need to get a refund and buy from steam and then enter the pre-order key you get from steam. Square treats the windows and steam as different versions even though they are both windows.

They have received the codes.
I believe SquareEnix's refund policy is that you get no refunds if you have revealed the code you bought.

So I'm pretty sure OP is basically screwed and now has a Endwalker code.

its not entirely true o.o
when i login into my mogstation says it in the login history that i logged in via console. hence why you could play with a steam version on PS4/5 without issues aswell with the same account.
i have a friend which has the SE version (bought from the SE site) when he logs into his mogstation says it PC as login information. he has nowhere in his entire login history console shown.

because he said its both a windows version which is technicly not true. steam gets handled as console version but, its not the first time that you dont read correctly tho.

i have a friend on my steam friendlist which plays FF14 on steam AND on his console and he dosnt owns a windows version. if steam dosnt gets handled as "console" explain me how he can do that. i have a PS4 on my own and i played FF14 with this very same account on my frigging PS4 O_o.

when my friend starts his game shows it only PC on his end. i wish i could prove that now but he is not online
