Have you contacted your ISP? It's not on SE's end; I get a significantly better download speed than that, as do other posters. That's why they're telling you it's not SE. If you're US based, your ISP can limit your bandwidth during peak for particular types of traffic, unless you're in a state that prohibits it -- I'm not familiar with other countries' laws, but perhaps something similar is going on for you if you're NOT in the US.
I've looked around and I'm clearly not the only one with the problem.
Okay, but...do you really think SE is limiting your traffic in particular? I'm not calling you a liar, but what I am telling you is that other people are not reporting this problem that **everyone would have** were it a case of SE limiting speeds.
Is there a problem? Yes.
Is that problem SE limiting speeds? No.
That means it's something else.
If it's not your ISP, it's not your ISP, but it is *something*, and that something is not SE limiting download speeds. If you want an ACTUAL solution, you need to do a bit more troubleshooting, rather than assuming it's this. Your problem is likely solvable, but not if you insist that it's something like this.
I never said SE was limiting my speeds, I was asking if there was a speed cap setting which most other game/MMO/Whatever launchers have, not a crazy scheme i'm inventing here.
There is a problem with the download, It's normal to get lower than advertised speeds but here we're talking nearly 1% of my real speed, not my ISP at fault since everything else works correctly.
The something else could be SE having overloaded servers, or making me download the game from a different continent.
OK. Good luck with your non-solutions to a problem that could probably be solved were you willing to look into it!
I'm making a post to ask for information/solutions, use your common sense.
It's literally just their download servers being slow. It requires a lot of bandwidth to serve however many concurrent players they have across all platforrms. Clearly they just don't quite have enough.
