Some(Master Recipes) are unlocked from books you get with Scrips at levels 60, 70, and 80.
The level 50 master recipes are from crafted item exchanges in Mor Dhona.
You CAN craft without a rotation if you have an understanding of the crafting system, but when it comes to mass crafting items and you know you can consistently get 100% for HQ, using a macro is just convienence.
You dont need any macros for crafting. In fact, this game doesnt need much macros to begin with, because they are detrimental at least to the battle mechanics.
I would say crafting in FF14 is far easier than in WoW, especially because you get so much gil and the ressources cost next to nothing. You can easily level up a crafting job without even using any of the gatherer jobs.
I've never made a macro for crafting for anything....ever....I hardly use the market boards (why buy what I can gather and/or craft myself) except to sell the stuff I make and I actually MAIN crafting BECAUSE it's just like playing a combat class. Crafting has its own rotation, it's own bosses or raids in the form of artisinal or mastercrafted gear and instead of "just" getting loot at random I pick and choose which loot I want to receive and its usually better than what a dungeon of equal level would give me.....
Let me tell you it's so much easier/faster now then it was when I did it a few years back.
I leveled them up to about 20 each then spammed leves for exp and sold items on the MB to cover my costs.
Swapping out a lot of leves for Collectables till 70.
Don't forget to do your daily Grand Company hand ins, double exp for HQ items.
Please do NOT follow that guide. Its a horrendous mess with so many wrong informations and really bad macros.
If you want decent informations on how to approach leveling. How crafting works in the later stages and detailed informations about melds, rotation and breakpoints join the balance discord.

In there you will find great ressources for all Crafter & Gatherer oriented stuff and also for each combat profession in the game.
Uh, majority of low level recipes use materials that are sold right at the guild. You should be able to reach level 20 just by completing low level recipes. (Provided you have Road to 70.) It's also not hard to just gather the stuff yourself. The easiest way of leveling is just doing your daily turn-ins at your grand company.
Thx everyone
I cant find the tab in the discord channel for crafting.
