Not being able to use the free trial
Just download the free trial, created an NA account, when i log in to the game it says:
You could not log because the service account in quesiton is not registered,

its not making any sense to me.

I don't think most people here would say the registration system for FF14 is easy but rather confusing instead.

That being said, seems like you might have downloaded the standard store launcher for windows (SE version) and unable to proceed because they require a starter edition key instead.

You might want to login to mogstation and confirm that your account is on trial status (assuming you created your account via the trial website). Then you might want to either search for the FF14 trial edition website (for SE version) to download the trial launcher OR search FF14 trial version on steam (for Steam version)

Do note both versions are NOT compatible with one another (there is a loophole but I rather avoid that) so decide on your FF14 platform before you proceed.

If you wish to continue beyond level 60, please purchase the full version of the game on Steam. Several game features are restricted for the Free Trial.

Otherwise what you installed right now is the main game which you need to purchase and register the cd key to be able to use.

anyways, i went ahead and purchased starter edition on steam, got a key, went to my account tried to add my key which appears right after i launch the game and i got this fancy beautiful message:

Your description matches the description of the main game client, not the free trial client description. It could be you downloaded the main game by mistake.

Not your fault, the free trial game client isn't listed on the main FFXIV store page unless you search for it manually (I don't know why they made it like that on Steam).

Ah I see the problem now, I think you misread this part as free trial.

This is just free subscription time after you register the main game. It is not free trial. Because free trial is unlimited game time.
Try uninstall your game client and instead download the game client I provided above. It should be the correct Free Trial game client.

This is in otherwordly mess and I followed the steam Page link. I don't even want the free trial, I got the game, paid for it, noticed it's 2 distinct things on steam. Now when I go to the molestation or whatever and try to register the game code there, to returns the said error, it's really starting to grind my gears at this point

oh yea, care to enlighten? because i did things exactly as told, and i get the error, so where did i rushed? put my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ info all there, got the registration email everything alright but guess what, theres a plethora of people complaining about the same error, it really gotta be their fault, how hard can it be to create an account, input the code.

A quick update, it worked, ON A SMARTPHONE.

it didnt worked on 2 different PC's on different networks, but alas for some reason it worked on a phone, the code was registered to the account.

Way to screw new players over square enix.

frankly im from south america, so i choosen the right country and my account do state "The americas", all the issue was simply because for some obscure and insane reason, it had to be done thru a phone, else id get error i2105 or something. its insane.
