Why and how did SE manage to come to the conclusion that the best way to handle the housing was to make it on a random timer between 30minutes and 24 hours, i've been trying to get a house for near 2 months now but in order to actually spend 18 hours clicking a placard it is going to require a bot, how the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ did this manage to be seen as the best option?!

This was done to stop person-to-person Real Estate. I don't know if it was the best option, I do know that towards the end of the worst days in FFXIV Real Estate, you could no longer buy houses with gil, for the most part it was cornered by RMT.

RMT gets you banned, making that an annoying but temporary problem

When ishgard housing opens its just going straight lottery who gets to buy it so no more afk botting needed at least.

I feel your pain. House market system is one of three bad things i can say about this game. Hope it will be somehow better with new expansion.

Make trials completely mute. Still wouldn’t solve the problem though. All they gotta do is spend $20 or less for a new account

Just do like me OP and don't even bother with that pointless gil sinkhole.

There are best times to do it, such as the upcoming expansion where everyone will be selling their houses on PF and failing to come to an outrageous sum, eventually just drop the property in the hopes of getting into Ishgard, the ugliest region 👌 game logic.

Strangely enough, I easily managed to acquire a house on my previous account and on my current one. Yes, you have to actually look for it and it can take some days/weeks depending on your luck, but getting a house in FFXIV isn't difficult.
