still hate for bards?

so i accedently used bard queing for ramuh ex, level 59, properly 130 ilv geared. and follow the mechanics properly, only to find im the only dps alive at the dps check, over and over again, the encounter isnt designed for a single dps to take out every enemy spawned. but after a vote abandon was called they yell out NO! kick the bards!, yeah ok kick the only dps competent enough to live to the dps check? i was kinda hoping this class stigma was gone by now, as ive been gone for years and recently came back. is bard actually still bad and not balanced yet or is it just a lingering stigma, i watched one melee dps so focused on their "perfect rotation zomgbestdpsers" they didnt even save the enthralled healer right NEXT to them just out of range. but theyre a samurai, yep kick those pesky bards lol

That's very odd, I play a bard when I don't feel like playing others and never got that kind of response that you got, granted as I play bard I become the jokester and be memey like: "Let me sing you the song of my people." That kind of lame stuff.

Maybe you were with a group that just got embarrassed that they got outplayed by a support dps.

im hoping i just got a bad apple group or something, back when i played before there was abundant hate toward bards that i ran into, because they werent the highest perfect dps etc i swaped to maining whm to get away from it

Bard is kinda getting memed on lately, it lost it's identity, as all its buffs went over to dancer. It has neither the personal DPS to compete with a melee or the buffs to compete with a Dancer, so it's this weird in-between of nobody "really" wants it.

Course, this is for high end play so if you don't care for doing current end-game Savage or Ultimate it doesn't really matter. At the end of the day, people just want you to play the job WELL, even if it's the worst job, if you play it better than someone who plays like spaghetti you will be wanted more than the spaghetti main job player.

Not sure why you were doing ramuh EX, did you queue for it in DF? Don't do that, nobody does extreme trials in Duty Finder, Extremes are always set up via Party Finder. Even then, just unsync it, gets it done faster and smoothly. If you really want to do it "as intended" you'll have to make a "min ilvl and/or SYNCED" PF for it, because clearing an ex trial in DF is like finding a needle in a haystack.

Yeah, when adds spawn you're supposed to kill all 3 of them, or you wipe. Though I think they changed it so you no longer just "wipe" but he goes immune and then you wipe after a set amount of time.

Anyway, point is: Don't queue for EX in DF.

my early experience with PF was just an e peen contest of everyone only letting the best in, this was back when i used to play but i havent used it since, i dont like to cheese them with unsynch, feels like cheating, but ur not wrong, it would probably be easier to get a good party that way, my method was just queing trials when rouletes reset lol

That's respectable, I hate doing things unsynced and the FC I am in only want to do things unsynced for the mounts and then be on their merry way, I am glad I managed to find a group that is willing to do everything content wise in synced, silenced echo and maybe mil if we crazy enough right now we are revisiting and tackling the Coils raids with some newbies. You just need to find people willing to actually do the things as they were meant to and not cheese everything.

I think the main issue here is even if you "survive" the problem really is damage.
Bards are support - but what you need in Ramuah is burst.

It really depends. If I had a player who was equally capable and a master of both the Bard, Machinist, and Dancer rotation in terms of a raw numbers Machinist is going to bring the most raw damage. When it comes to one that's buffing the team a Dancer is going to bring more consistent and pretty nuts DPS burst windows if lined up right, Bard unfortunately just isn't in a good place right now, it really needs an actual buff honestly because what it got in that last update was not a buff. At the end of the day you should play whatever you enjoy playing the most but also accept the fact that most people are going to want any other ranged physical over a Bard, that being said I have seen some Bards absolutely knock my socks off with how good they were with their rotation as a really good Bard will put an average Machinist/Dancer to shame. But raw numbers the Dancer and Machinist just have so much more potential and in raid content no matter how low or high said content is most people want the raw numbers best to the team. Also if there were more than one Bard in there that doesn't help either because anytime a role is duplicated that's less LB being generated at all times which is never useful.

You mean you were queueing for Extremes at reset? Don't do that, man.

You're purposefully setting up mentors to get content that you'll likely never clear and waste everyone's time on when you do that.

Extremes are not content you can get 7 randos and expect to clear, even IF someone explains the fight and what to do.

Again, if you "really" want to do the fights at level 50 make a PF and say it's a SYNCED party, people will join if they feel like it, but if worse comes to worse and it never fills up just make it unsynced and say 'WT party"

OP, some people you find might not always be nice but there are still plenty of good people out there. You were unlocking once with a party but I'm sure you'll find plenty of other good ones.

Which extremes do you queue via DF and not getting a group for PF.

Also, if you play on JP datacenters their culture is different, DF is for clearing, PF is for practicing, it's the opposite here. And for hard content, I'd say PF is for both, nobody queues for extremes.

When's the last time you queued for Cinder Drift Extreme in DF?

If you mean TRIAL ROULETTE, you did Ramuh HARD not EXTREME, that's something else entire different.

If you queued for Ramuh EXTREME you're making it so people trying to do Mentor Roulette will/may get paired with you and you'll end up wasting everyone's time, nobody queues for Extremes in the duty finder.

Roulettes also aren't exactly what you think they are, they're there for the reward. That's why people do their levelling roulette, not to help people do content like Sastasha, it's for EXP. Once roulettes are exhausted you have no reason to queue for a roulette and end up in Tam-tara for no reason, you queue up for the highest level dungeon you can for the highest exp you can.

There's a reason some content has "really long queues once everyone finishes their easy roulettes" it's because there's no REASON to do that content more than once (ie, story mode trials, like Bismarck or Ravana) OR Extremes which, again nobody queues for in duty finder.

That's why your queues are long.

The whole main reason for mentors is lost and people just get the mentor status so they can have an extreme roulette, most mentors have sticks and rods far up their ass when someone doing an extreme trial asks them the tactics the mentor either doesn't say anything or just says: "Figure it out yourself.". Mentors love hopping also, if they see at least 1 sprout🌱 in the trial they immediately leave without trying whether sprout has already done it or not before.

Except for the Free Trial users who now have access all the way up to Heavensward and Lv. 60 content and thats really their only way to do that stuff. I've come to terms with that. Plus, oddly enough I find doing any form of old EX content actually fun even when wiping to hell and back. Just at 2k hours between console and PC and still haven't hit a point where I feel like my time is wasted.
