FINAL FANTASY XIV Online

How do I heal myself in this game?
I'm playing as traumathurge following the path to black mage, I used to have like 30 hi-potions but I'm running out, still have 4 of them. I'm searching all over reddit for info about healing and people say you can't buy potions, you can heal yourself if you're conjurer and you can make potions by becoming alchemist (which I don't know where is that). Is there any other options like food for healing? Where to buy healing itens?

What content are you doing where you need to constantly be using potions? There really shouldn't be much if any self healing needed as a dps ever.

Most of the enemies are easy enough, but I had a few surprises. There were one that made me spend almost half of my potions. Even with Chocobo helping with dmg
But the hints here are great. Thanks everyone.

I don't know about Thaumathurge, but arcanist gets a healing spell right off the bat. I assume there will be others down the line.

On a side note: I was kind of surprised that Conjurer isn't the base class that leads to summoner. Based on the name you would think it was.

Yeah, I played Archanist. But I was working my way up with black mage, it's being tough

Also you are playing the hardest job for solo content. With BLM you just want to kill everything before it gets to you. You get a decent shield but your main defense is killing stuff with fire. If you feel like you need to be able to heal yourself then I suggest leveling to 50 and switching to red mage or just picking any healer or tank.

Totally, guess I'll level my mage exclusively in dungeons.
If you're fighting multiple enemies as Blm, make sure to put the ones you're not fighting to sleep as it will help reduce damage(this is something you should have been taught during one of your Thaumaturge quest).
If you're having trouble killing the mobs one by one and they're still doing too much damage even with your chocobo healing you. You can always gear up gear at your GC via seals, using other sources such as MB or local vendors in the different areas.
Once you get higher lv with Blm you tend not to use sleep as you can wipe most things out most groups pretty quickly.

Damn, great hint. I totally forgot I have sleep. Thanks
Oh just thought of something, you could also invest a little time in the Alchemist job. Then you could make your own better potions instead of buying them.

You should be able to buy potions of various kinds at any market of the three cities. You naturally heal outside of combat, and all classes should get a healing ability for emergency situations after leveling up. Besides that there’s no real reason to chug so many potions, if any at all.

Maybe I suck at this game, but I'm getting too much damage from enemies during quest. It's ok during dungeons since there is always a healer around, but when I'm solo, I'm finding myself against strong enemies. And they're not above my level, I'm just taking too much damage.
FATE enemies can mess you up. In desperate moments, you can use Sleep as crowd control.
