How do I heal myself in this game?
I'm playing as traumathurge following the path to black mage, I used to have like 30 hi-potions but I'm running out, still have 4 of them. I'm searching all over reddit for info about healing and people say you can't buy potions, you can heal yourself if you're conjurer and you can make potions by becoming alchemist (which I don't know where is that). Is there any other options like food for healing? Where to buy healing itens?

You should be able to buy potions of various kinds at any market of the three cities. You naturally heal outside of combat, and all classes should get a healing ability for emergency situations after leveling up. Besides that there’s no real reason to chug so many potions, if any at all.

you can buy simpler potions like Potion. https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/playguide/db/item/?category2=5&category3=44 i think they mean you cant buy elixier or hi elixier. Just click on a potion and it should show which merchant sells one in which city and the coordinates from the merchant.

When you get a combat chocobo you can trait it to heal you.

Only heal classes can really heal themselves consistently.

You can buy health potions so whoever told you that you can't was wrong. I know I've purchased healing potions off the market board before.

Is there a specific location for a potion store? 'Cause I have visited many, many stores. It frustrates me to see how easy is finding a flowers store but not a medicine based one.
I wish to find x-potions, I don't mind not using elixir, but I'm having a hard time being black mage lvl 33 without healing resources.

That's a great hint. I have a chocobo companion but didn't know they could do that. I'll look into it.

Maybe I suck at this game, but I'm getting too much damage from enemies during quest. It's ok during dungeons since there is always a healer around, but when I'm solo, I'm finding myself against strong enemies. And they're not above my level, I'm just taking too much damage.

idk what your problem is, but just click on the link and the one potione that you would like to have. And after that you can see where you can buy it. also the locations/coordinates. If you dont know how to see the coordinates just open your map and hover your mouse on the map. The coordinates should show up near the X button and you can also right click on the map so you wont forgett the location.

also it's important to be sure you are wearing gear from your level

Gee, sorry. I opened the link but didn't know that clicking on a potion would lead me to even more info. Thanks.

I use the recommended gear option. Is it bad?

It grabs the best gear that you have.

But depending on your picks for gear from quests and your luck with loot from dungeons and trials you may have some fear that's well below your level. Enough pieces below level could be affecting your ability to stay alive.

Also you are playing the hardest job for solo content. With BLM you just want to kill everything before it gets to you. You get a decent shield but your main defense is killing stuff with fire. If you feel like you need to be able to heal yourself then I suggest leveling to 50 and switching to red mage or just picking any healer or tank.

What content are you doing where you need to constantly be using potions? There really shouldn't be much if any self healing needed as a dps ever.

I don't know about Thaumathurge, but arcanist gets a healing spell right off the bat. I assume there will be others down the line.

On a side note: I was kind of surprised that Conjurer isn't the base class that leads to summoner. Based on the name you would think it was.
